Activision plans to release its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot a little over a month from now, and the company is dishing out the details on what the system requirements are for the game. We had a sneaking suspicion that gamers would need a stout system given how gorgeous the game looks -- especially with real-time ray tracing effects enabled -- but it is especially demanding with respect to memory. Minimum and recommend system requirements have been posted, and Activision is calling for at least 8GB of system memory. However, moving over to the recommended specs, those requirements double to 16GB of memory. 8GB is likely the bare minimum that most folks buying a new PC will want... Read more...
Developer Infinity Ward is planning to reveal details about cross-platform play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, during a livestream event today. It will also be sharing information about what is to come in the second weekend of the beta. Incidentally, that is also when the beta will extend beyond the PlayStation 4 to include Early Access on the Xbox One and PC. Cross-play support in Modern Warfare is a highly anticipated feature, and one that is long overdue—no previous Call of Duty game allows players on one platform to play against competitors on another platform. The livestream is also set to be the first official look at cross-play in Modern Warfare, assuming we get to see it in action.... Read more...

If you preordered CoD: Modern Warfare on the PS4, you can get in on the beta today starting at 1 pm ET and can play through tomorrow. That is two days earlier than the open beta on the PS4 that starts September 14th and runs through the 16th. PC gamers and Xbox One players who preordered will get access to the beta starting on September 19-20; the open beta kicks off for all platforms on September 21-23. Gamers... Read more...

The alpha for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launched this past Thursday and gamers are able to test out “Gunfight mode”, or a 2v2 mode where players and a teammate are tasked with eliminating another duo. "With the game’s October 25th release fast approaching, we can now reveal that the game is being enhanced with real-time ray-traced shadows, within both the single-player campaign and 2v2 Gunfight multiplayer mode," NVIDIA says. Here's a look at the first ray-traced trailer for Modern Warfare... NVIDIA has been working side-by-side... Read more...
Back in May, Activision unveiled the reboot of the classic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare shooter complete with ray tracing-enabled graphics. Since then it has announced the new Modern Warfare 4K gunfight mode. Activision is now teasing another new feature for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare courtesy of a new gunsmith teaser. Gunsmithing will allow players to customize their two main Loadout weapons. Each of the primary and secondary weapons can be augmented to give players the exact type and style of firepower for any multiplayer game mode. Each of those weapons has nine areas that can be augmented and customized. Customization areas include the muzzle, lasers, optic, stock, rear grip, magazine,... Read more...
There's a new Call of Duty arriving later this year, and it's a reboot of Modern Warfare. The first Modern Warfare launched over a decade ago, and the most recent outing was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.  However, thanks to a new leak, we're learning more about the rumored battle royale mode that will be included in the game. The information comes from the YouTube channel TheGamingRevoluion, which says that the battle royale mode will allow up to 152 players to compete at once on a map. Speaking of maps, it's reported that it will be a whopping 3 times larger than Blackout, which was included with Black Ops 4. If that wasn't enough, it seems that developer Infinity Ward doesn't appear... Read more...

It's been over a decade since the first installment in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise was launched, and its publisher Activision feels that now is the perfect time to reboot the series. This time around, Infinity Ward is at the helm developing the game and it will see players thrust into a modern-day conflict that has the potential to tip the scales with respect to the global geopolitical balance of power. Let's get this out of the way first: the new Modern Warfare goes back to the basics and brings back the single-player campaign that was removed from Black Ops 4. The game was built from the ground-up with an all-new game engine, and it brings native support for real-time ray-tracing... Read more...

In the meantime, we already know that the next installment in the CoD franchise will be called Modern Warfare, and have even seen a small bit of footage, courtesy of an inadvertent leak by Activision. Image Source: Reddit (yOuRbEaRdIsWeIrDhuh) For a brief time, some users reported seeing a low resolution preview of the upcoming trailer on YouTube. Would you pay full price—or close to full price—for a game that is nearly a decade old? Activision is banking on Call of Duty fans doing exactly that when the standalone version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered ships later this month. If you want the full experience, you'll have to cough up $40 for the core game, plus another $15 for the accompanying DLC that includes extra maps and other additional content. Activision is catching a fair amount of heat from gamers on this one. Initially, the controversy surrounding the remastered release was Activision's decision to bundle it with the Digital Deluxe, Legacy Pro, and Legacy versions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. At its cheapest,... Read more...
The wait for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is down to about a month, though in the meantime, the game's retail packaging for the PlayStation 4 gives us something interesting to talk about. Apparently the game, which comes with a digital code to download a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, will consume 130GB of storage space if installing the entire kit-and-caboodle. A picture of the box art shows the storage requirement, which is for both titles combined. It's not entirely clear how much space each individual takes up (we'll do some math in a moment), just that the two combined will eat up 130GB of storage. That requirement's been gaining a lot of buzz on the Internet, though... Read more...
