In addition to the major system and graphics card announcements ASUS made at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, the company was showing off a number of other interesting products as well. We just spent some time with representatives from ASUS at a suite in the Trump Hotel and got to check out some new monitors, motherboards, notebooks, mobile devices, and networking products first hand. One of the most interesting products on display was a new wide-screen monitor dubbed the MX299Q. Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha you gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when the U.S. Department of Justice slaps you silly for conspiring to fix prices of LCD panels on a global scale? So maybe the actual theme song goes a little differently than that, but we have an answer to the question nonetheless. When the DoJ lobs a legal backhand your way for bending the public over and kicking them in the wallet, you're going to serve time in jail. That's the self-imposed plight Wen-Hung "Amigo" Huang, a former executive from Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corporation, finds himself in after pleading guilty to conspiracy to fix LCD prices. "Under his plea agreement which is subject to court approval, Huang, who was charged... Read more...

Digital designers and video editors will tell you that one display is often not enough. With so many different tool and palette windows, a single display can get crowded very quickly, leaving little room for the primary workspace. Add some other apps to the equation, such as e-mail and Web browsers, and you can wind up with a desktop drowning in windows. But another full-sized display is not always a practical solution for such users: A second display might represent a prohibitive expense or it simply might not fit on a desk that has limited space. Perhaps even more importantly, many systems simply lack a second video-port (or even lack the ability to swap out a graphics card, such as with... Read more...

Hey folks, the news has been pretty slow this weekend, but there's enough for a post. I can hardly keep my eyes open... struggling to move these fingers. Goodnight all, enjoy the news! Some are simple time-saving motions, while others are complex maneuvers in finger gymnastics. There are dozens of other common Windows shortcuts (and even more related to specific software titles), and memorizing just a few of the more basic ones may be worth the time-savings they can afford...
