On paper, the Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS (Windows on Snapdragon) laptop doesn't seem to stand out much, save for perhaps the somewhat unique system processor under its hood. Regardless, as an affordable, always-on, always-connected convertible PC with middle-of-the-road specs and benchmark scores (more on this later), you might be forgiven for thinking that there's little reason for this machine to be remarkable in any significant way. And yet, the Lenovo Yoga C630 is impressive indeed. This machine is always connected (with a mobile data plan), it boots up (and shuts down) almost instantly, it breezes through typical office tasks, streams YouTube and Netflix videos with nary a stutter (on both... Late last week we received word that Motorola was working on a successor to its widely popular original RAZR flip phone. However, rather than being a "dumb phone", this would be modern design with all the "luxury" trappings of the Android operating system. Today, we're getting a closer look at what Motorola is potentially cooking up thanks to drawings that were found in a December patent filing with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). There is nothing by way of logos or any information regarding the specs of the device, but we can clearly see the overall design language of the phone, which most definitely pays homage to the original. The device takes on the traditional... Read more...
Before the rise of smartphone and especially the iPhone, the Motorola RAZR was THE smartphone that everyone wanted to have. It was stylish, it was thin (for its time) and it was an all-around good smartphone. The RAZR name has long since faded into obscurity, but a new report this morning indicates that Motorola could be bringing it back with a new smartphone. According to the report from the Wall Street Journal, Lenovo wants Motorola to deliver a folding smartphone to counter incoming entries from the likes of Samsung, Huawei, and LG. Motorola's standing in the smartphone world has eroded quite a bit over the years, and its sales don't come anywhere close to matching the like... Read more...
The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, is one of the biggest events in the Tech space each year. We typically see a dizzying array of new products launch during the week of CES; more than we are likely to see in the following few months. Not all products are block-buster standouts though, and some of these technological spectacles inevitably shine brighter than others. After sifting though all the products we saw last week, we've compiled a list of the best products that we got time with at CES 2019. And with that, we'll just dive right in... Asus ProArt PA90 Asus's ProArt PA90 is a cylindrical mini-PC that packs a surprising amount of power into it a compact enclosure. These systems... Read more...

Both devices are now thinner and lighter than ever before and come with 8th generation Intel Core processors. Starting off with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, it is now even thinner than the 6th generation model, coming in at 14.95 mm thick; it's also lighter at just 2.46 pounds. Lenovo has spruced things up a bit along the exterior with a new carbon fiber weave pattern that is equal parts cool and professional. If you prefer, you can also opt for the... Read more...

We're all a bit antsy for NVIDIA to launch another round of mobile GPUs for laptops, and evidently that day is drawing near. In fact, that day is so close that Lenovo is apparently bursting at the seams. On a support page for its Legion Y530 and Legion Y7000P laptops, Lenovo references an unreleased GeForce GTX 1160. It doesn't appear to be a typo. The GeForce GTX 1160 designation sits alongside a few other GPU options, namely the existing GeForce GTX 1050 and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, both of which come in 2GB and 4GB flavors. Lenovo lists the GeForce GTX 1160 as coming in 3GB and 6GB models. There might also be a few other new GPU options, as Lenovo states "and next generation GPUs" alongside the... Read more...
Last week, Microsoft released an emergency patch to fix a zero-day security issue in Internet Explorer. If left unpatched, an attacker could exploit the security hole to remotely execute malicious code on a victim's PC when visiting a compromised website. Releasing a patch was all well and good, except that there's an known issue that is quite annoying for some Lenovo laptop owners. "After installing KB4467691, Windows may fail to start up on certain Lenovo laptops that have less than 8GB of RAM," Microsoft lists as one of several known issues. Microsoft is working with Lenovo to resolve the issue through a future update. In the meantime, the company has a couple of suggested workarounds for... Read more...

If you thought that a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 10GB of RAM was the bee’s knees, then you'll definitely be bowled over by Lenovo's latest release. Just a few weeks ago, we were championing the release of the world's first flagship phones with 10GB of RAM onboard, and now Lenovo has announced the Z5 Pro GT which is the world's first smartphone to come with 12GB of RAM. It seems as though not long ago, 4GB was the "gold standard" and many OEMs simply skipped over 6GB and went straight for 8GB. Now with 10GB and 12GB smartphones upon us, it's up to developers to start taking advantage of that extra memory.  But that's not all; the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is... Read more...
Lenovo has announced a refresh of its ThinkPad L-Series, and it includes hardware updates for both the standard ThinkPad L390 and the ThinkPad L390 Yoga. Lenovo targets the L-Series at “price sensitive” business and professional customers, and they sit below the ThinkPad X1, T and X Series notebooks. Although they may rank lower on the totem pole, these are the first ThinkPad notebooks to gain access to Intel’s 8th generation Core Whiskey Lake processors (in top-configurations). The L390 is also available with Intel Celeron, Core i3 and Core vPro i5 processors. The L390 Yoga, however, isn’t even offered in Celeron configurations (which is probably for the better).... Google has rolled out some new features for Google Home devices and Lenovo Smart Displays, some of which were announced back during I/O 2018. The new features include Pretty Please, Assistant notes and lists integration, Broadcast Replies, and visual lyrics for the Home Hub. Pretty Please is designed to help encourage good manners, which is a big deal for parents with kids. The way Pretty Please works is by encouraging you to say "please" and "thank you" in your commands. When Google Assistant hears commands with good manners, it will say "delightful responses" and "Thanks for asking so nicely." Since Google Assistant is a faceless bit of tech, using good manners when talking with it is easy... Read more...
