EVGA boldly entered a new product category and launched its first sound card at CES, the aptly named EVGA Nu Audio. The Nu Audio card represents the culmination of a few years of co-development efforts with the folks at U.K.-based Audio Note, makers of high-end audio reproduction equipment. Unlike many sounds cards that tweak and massage source material to produce various effects, EVGA’s goal with the NU Audio card was strictly on quality and playing back source material as close to how the original creators intended, with minimal filtering. To that end, the NU Audio card is packing nothing but top-notch components, right down to its Nichicon solid-state capacitors and audio-grade resistors.... Read more...

Most people thought that Essential was dead and had probably given up hope of getting the Audio Adapter HD dongle for headphones that the company had been promising for a long time. Things haven't exactly been smooth at Essential with the Essential Phone not selling well and the company announcing back in May that it was canceling its second-generation smartphone and considering selling itself. Last month Essential laid off 30% of its staff, and with those layoffs, any hope of the promised Audio Adapter HD launching dimmed. However, today we learn that Essential has launched the Audio Adapter HD as promised. The adapter launched yesterday and owners of Essential phones were hungry for the little... Read more...
Are you looking for a good set of headphones at a reasonable price? If that is the case, head over to Amazon and check out the Mpow 059 Bluetooth Headphones. The world of digital assistants is a little bit crowded and immensely competitive. Since its introduction, Amazon has looked at ways of setting Alexa apart from the competition, and it just found another one—equalizer controls. In a blog post, Amazon announced it has added EQ and sound mode controls for smart home entertainment devices using Alexa. If you own an Echo speaker, you can shout, "Alexa, crank up the bass" or "Alexa, turn up treble" and the digital assistant will do exactly that. The new feature is available to customers in the US across the Echo family of devices, and on select Alexa-enabled devices built using the Alexa Voice Service (AVS), such as the Echo Dot. Here are some... Read more...
If you live in an area with lots of barking dogs, aircraft flying over, noisy neighbors, or have a spouse who is anything but quiet, Bose has something for you. The audio company has launched a new set of earbuds that are designed specifically for sleep called the Sleepbuds. These wearable gadgets are "tiny" according to Bose and have an "ultra-comfortable" design with the ability to generate soothing sounds to block outside noise. Bose claims that Sleepbuds are the smallest product it has ever made and have ten pre-loaded "sleeptracks" that mirror the frequencies of snoring, neighbors, dogs, traffic, and other sounds allowing the Sleepbuds to hide any annoying sounds. The ear tips are patented... Read more...
One of the most popular set of earphones on Amazon is available for a measly $18 today, after using a coupon code. It also comes with a USB cable for charging and a carrying pouch,... Read more...
You can bet that Essential in its current form is not what Andy Rubin and his team initially had in mind. The company happily trotted out its Essential Phone only to see the device tank on the market and sell fewer than 90,000 units in all of 2017. The poor sales of the device have reportedly led Essential to stop development on its second-generation smartphone and to consider selling its assets. The uncertainty in what will happen to the company hasn’t prevented Essential from following up with one of the more anticipated accessories for its smartphone. Essential has now confirmed the coming of the second of its attachment accessories for the smartphone and this one is a wired headphone... Read more...

This is the first soundbar in the industry that is powered by Android TV and has Google Assistant integration.
