Over the weekend, we started to turn the corner concerning Zen 3 processor availability. Ever since AMD's Ryzen 5000 desktop processor family launched late last year, they've been in short supply. Early pricing was through the roof, with chips selling for well over MSRP. The Ryzen 7 5800X was the first Zen 3 processor to become widely available at its MSRP, and now it's the Ryzen 5 5600X's turn. The Ryzen 5 5600X has an MSRP of $299 but routinely sells for between $350 and $400 due to supply issues. But right now, you can head right on over to Walmart.com and purchase the Ryzen 5 5600X for $299.99 with no strings attached.  Even Amazon, which has struggled to keep the Ryzen 5600X in... It goes without saying that finding a next generation consoles have been incredibly hard to come by for the past month. For those that couldn’t snag an early preorder spot, it has been an exhausting affair trying to find retailer that had the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X in stock for more than a few seconds at a time. Luckily, Walmart currently has sufficient stock of the Xbox Series S this morning. We say "sufficient" because the console has been available to purchase online for at least the past two hours and has shown no signs of going out of stock. The console is of course priced at $299 with free shipping to your home. Unfortunately, the console will arrive after Christmas... Read more...
The Nintendo Switch has been a hot item during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the console has been going in and out of stock for the past few months (with some new, sealed consoles commanding a premium on third-party marketplaces like eBay). Switch inventory is once again reaching low points as we are in the Christmas shopping rush, but Walmart has one particular bundle in stock that might catch your eye. The standard Nintendo Switch is priced at $299, and only includes the console, the two Joy-Cons, the TV dock, and a power adapter. That's it, no games, no freebies; it's just as barebones as you can get for a console. However, Walmart’s current bundle offer gets you the Switch console, a carrying... Read more...
As we get closer to the Christmas holiday, the frequency of delivery trucks coursing through your neighborhood has no doubt spiked. If Amazon's own Prime delivery trucks aren't wheeling down the streets stopping at every other house, there's bound to be frequent activity from USPS, FedEx and UPS trucks as well. Walmart is attempting to battle the dominant Amazon Prime service during the lead-up to Christmas, and it is doing by dropping the $35 order minimum for Walmart+ subscribers on its website starting December 4th. With the $35 minimum now gone, you can purchase as little or as much as you want and get free next-day or two-day shipping on your items. This compares favorably... Read more...
Smart TVs are hot ticket items this year for Black Friday, and it’s easy to see why. Prices have dropped dramatically on large screen panels, with 4K TVs measuring as big as 65 inches falling well below the $300 mark. This is good news for folks out there that don’t have a lot of money to burn, and just want the most bang for the buck when it comes to screen size and decent image quality. While we could spend all day laying out deals on high-end QLED or OLED panels that retail for $1,000, $2,000 or even $3,000+, we’re going to focus on budget Smart TVs offering under $500 that should still be pleasing to all but the most upper-crust pixel snobs. Insignia 32-inch Fire TV... Read more...
Finding an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 in stock these days is seemingly a fruitless endeavor. Even HotHardware staffers around here have struck out over and over again attempting to score just one of the consoles for ourselves, yet we keep persisting despite the unfavorable odds. With that being said, Walmart is offering up a chance today for you to not only grab an Xbox Series X, but also the PlayStation 5. The retail giant will have both consoles on sale stating at 3pm ET. And for those that don't want to fork over $499, you'll be happy to know that the cheaper Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will also be available to purchase starting at 3pm. Sony PlayStation 5... Read more...
Walmart has already posted its Black Friday ad, although the discounts won't go live until next Wednesday (11/25) starting at 7pm ET. Not surprisingly, Walmart has quite a few deals on hand that should be enticing for enthusiasts, including deals on popular items like Apple's AirPods Pro and the Apple Watch Series 3 (which is still surprisingly sticking around after all these years). The retailer will also have the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in stock (at MSRP, of course), so you'll want to keep an eye on those as well. With that being said, here are some of the hot deals that we've scoped out for you that you'll want to keep on your radar screen next week. Apple Watch Series 3 The Apple... Read more...
Back in mid-September, Apple announced the Apple Watch SE as a new low-cost smartwatch that slots in between the Apple Watch Series 3 and the new flagship Apple Watch Series 6. The Apple Watch SE features the same design as the Series 6, but misses out on the blood oxygen monitoring and a bevy of other features. It also makes do with the older S5 SoC. However, with a starting price of $279, the Apple Watch SE is an attractive entry for those that don’t want to break the bank on a brand-new up-to-date smartwatch. Now, there’s even more reason to get an Apple Watch SE, as both Walmart and Target are offering the device for $50 off, taking its base price down to a low $229.... Read more...
Google might as well go ahead and launch its Nest Audio smart speaker, because some of its retail partners are not in the mood to wait. The unreleased smart speaker has been spotted on store shelves at Walmart, and there is a product page at Lowe's, though the latter is not actually accepting orders at the moment. Presumably a launch is imminent. It is not clear if Walmart has been actively selling the Nest Audio in stores. Twitter user Marcos Frausto posted the image above (click to enlarge for a full view), saying it "looks like Walmart jumped the gun on the unreleased speaker from Google." In a follow-up tweet, he said Walmart did not put a price on the product. So perhaps the retail chain... Read more...
Walmart is hesitant to come right out and say it, but its new Walmart+ subscription service is a poised to become a direct competitor to Amazon Prime, with competitive pricing and some unique benefits. And with the retail chain having several thousand stores, the combination of online and brick-and-mortar benefits is enticing. So, what exactly is Walmart+? There are three main perks at the outset. The biggest one is unlimited free delivery on more than 160,000 items, ranging from electronics to household goods and groceries. Walmart is pitching this as offering customers" in-store prices as fast as same day" delivery on qualifying items. There is a caveat, though. While not mentioned in the press... Read more...
Anyone in the market for a next-generation Wi-Fi router, but looking for something that won't break the bank, needs to check out a deal going on at Walmart right now for the ever-speedy Netgear Nighthawk AX4 Wi-Fi 6 router. Typically, the router sells for $199, but Walmart has a special deal going on right now that makes the router $100 off. The Netgear Nighthawk AX4 four-stream AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 router (RAX35-100NAS) is currently on sale at Walmart for $99. Walmart is also offering free delivery with arrival by March 23, and if a nearby Walmart retail store has the router in stock, you can buy it online and pick it up in the store. The router is also sold and shipped by Walmart, not some potentially... Read more...
We've been seeing quite a few AMD Ryzen 3000 deals make their way through across the news desk over the past few weeks, but most of the best ones have been limited to MicroCenter. While MicroCenter's pricing is stellar, not everyone has a store in their state. Today, we've got two deals that everyone can partake in, and it involves the burly Ryzen 9 3900X processor. Things first heated up with Walmart, which is selling the processor (normally retailing for $499) at a low $419.99. That's an $80 discount off the regular price, which is a smoking hot deal in our books. Up until that point, Amazon had been selling the same processor for $460. But once the retailer caught word that Walmart was... Read more...
I remember buying a big screen TV back in the day and not being overly fazed by the fact that it was nearly as big as a Buick. This was before thin LCD screens had permeated the market. It's quite the different landscape now, and prices are a lot cheaper, too. If you have not shopped for a TV in a bit, good news, you can upgrade to a fancy new model with various bells and whistles for cheaper than ever before. To help you do just that, we have rounded up a handful of big screen TVs that are currently on sale. Show above, for example, is a JVC 4K Roku Smart TV (LT-70MAW795) for $529.99 on Walmart. Forget about squinting to see the action, because 70 inches of diagonal screen real estate is easy... Read more...
This is the time of year when retailers can build good will with customers by offering swank discounts on everything under the sun, and as we have seen in years past, the deals are not limited to just Black Friday and Cyber Monday—the deal season typically runs from mid-November to late December. Walmart, however, can't seem to get out of its own way. The latest complaint from Black Friday shoppers is that Walmart is sending out emails saying they may cancel their iPhone orders. Starting on Black Friday (November 29), Walmart offered store gift cards when activating certain phones. This is actually still being advertised on Walmart's website. The amount varies by phone, with the iPhone... Read more...
Anyone looking to cut the cord and get a smoking good deal on a Roku Ultra 4K HDR streaming device will want to pay attention to this deal. Walmart is offering a Roku Ultra with Premium JBL Headphones in a single bundle. The listing says that the Roku Ultra and the headphones are 2019 models, so this isn't clearance for older hardware. Being the day after Black Friday, the discounted price on the bundle is impressive. The Roku Ultra and headphones bundle is on sale for $48, which is a $51 discount. The Black Friday deals have been coming hot and heavy over the last week or so. One of the deals that got a lot of people excited over at Walmart was for the Apple Watch Series 3 at a very low price of $159. As most stores are apt to do, the stock was apparently very limited, and reports indicate that Walmart sold out in just three minutes. There were lots of people who had placed an order while the Apple Watch still showed in stock during the sale. The problem is that a lot of the people who placed their order while the smartwatch was showing in stock and received a confirmed order reply woke up Thanksgiving Day to an email from Walmart that said the wearable was out of stock and their order... The best way to attack Black Friday and get the best deals is to formulate a game plan ahead of time. Fortunately, it is easier than ever to do so, as companies no longer wait until the last minute to reveal what kind of bargains can be had. While there will inevitably be some surprises, Walmart, for example, is offering a preview of some the Black Friday deals to come. On the front page of Walmart's Black Friday flyer, it lists three televisions, the least expensive of which is a 40-inch Onn-brand Full HD 1080p TV with built-in Roku functionality, for $98. It will be available online starting Wednesday, November 27 at 10:00 pm ET, and in stores on Thursday, November 28 (Thanksgiving) at 6:00... Read more...
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are still a few weeks away, in terms of where each one falls on the calendar. But as for the discounts that each ones bring, they are already starting to roll as retailers look to get a jump on the annual sales bonanza. So it goes for Walmart, where you can pick up a Nintendo Switch bundle at a tantalizing discount right now. Over at Walmart, there is a "Build Your Bundle" offer happening. You begin by selecting a Nintendo Switch console, either the version with neon blue and red Joy-Con controllers or the one with gray controllers. Once you have settled on a color scheme, you can select a game from a list of five choices, those being... Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ($56.99... Read more...
Walmart is stepping up its game in its fight with Amazon for online shopping supremacy with a new InHome Delivery service. Faster shipping is one thing, but Walmart's new InHome Delivery service takes things a step forward by allowing trained workers to enter a customer's home and stock their refrigerator with groceries. I'm having a hard time discerning whether this is absurd or creepy, or perhaps both. Maybe neither—I come from a time that predates online shopping, and used to walk 10 miles in the scorching hot snow, uphill both ways, to fetch groceries. Depending on where you live, it's now as easy as tapping your smartphone and calling it a day. Both Amazon and Walmart have announced... Read more...
What would the world be without rivalries? Pretty boring—we'd miss out on epic clashes between the Red Sox and Yankees, and the Celtics and Lakes (in years past). Perhaps more akin to Godzilla versus Kong, however, we have Amazon and Walmart duking it out in the online shopping space, and both are accelerating shipments of products into the home. It started with Amazon last month announcing an aggressive expansion of its free shipping perk for Prime membership—it's evolving from free two-day shipping on millions of qualifying items to just one day. Folks who live in certain areas already enjoy the expedited shipping time, and Amazon is investing $800 million of "incremental spend"... Read more...
It seems that everyone wants in on the game streaming market of late. Reports have indicated that Verizon wants into the game streaming segment, as does Amazon. Start-ups like VectorDash have announced game streaming services that leverage unused GPU power from crypto-mining rigs recently as well. And of course Google unveiled plans for its Stadia game streaming at GDC 2019 this week. Today, a new report claims that retail giant Walmart is looking at getting into game streaming as well. The report comes from USGamer, claiming that multiple sources familiar with Walmart's plans have noted that the retail giant is looking into its own streaming game platform. The unnamed sources...
