We've got some great deals for you today if you're looking to purchase a new smartphone and some accompanying accessories. We reviewed the OnePlus 8T last month and found it to be a competent smartphone desperately in need of a price cut. Well, that's just what B&H Photo has in store today for the smartphone. The OnePlus 8T has an MSRP or $749, but B&H Photo is lopping $120 off that price, taking it down to a much more palatable $629. At that price, the OnePlus 8T is definitely more competitive with the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, which has an MSRP of $699, but regularly goes on sale for $599.  While this is a good price, it's not quite as good as the deal from earlier this... Even though OnePlus is still trying to drive its latest OnePlus 8T forward with giveaways, it appears details on the next flagship device have leaked out. The OnePlus 9 is the firm's upcoming device expected to arrive sometime early next year. According to the leak, the phone will ship with some updated specs with a familiar design and will come in two different models, as is standard for OnePlus. Let’s take a look at what OnePlus could have to offer as next year’s flagship phone. Over the weekend, 91mobiles got its hands on alleged CAD renders of the OnePlus 9 from an unnamed leaker. At the front of the device is a familiar hole-punch camera situated in the upper-left corner akin... Read more...
If you're into freebies, we've got a great one for you today that's coming from a joint giveaway put together by OnePlus and T-Mobile. The two companies are doing a scavenger hunt of sorts, and your job is to find three separate pop-up OnePlus stores that have been placed around the United States (which all are conveniently located within T-Mobile's 5G coverage area). Given the fact that we're all suffering through the COVID-19 pandemic, this isn't going to be an event where you actually have to get in your car to search for the pop-up stores or hikes through the woods on-foot to win. Instead, this is an all-digital event and you'll be able to point out on a map where you think each pop-up store... Read more...
When the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and N100 were announced, they seemed like interesting choices for mid-range shoppers. But in our early review of the Nord N10 5G, we found that there were a number of compromises with respect to build quality, the onboard cameras, and overall performance; which is contrary to the “Never Settle” slogan. Now the Nord lineup is getting another ding after it was discovered that Android updates will stop after Android 11. OxygenOS, OnePlus' flavor of Android, is an excellent skin for Android by some accounts; and frequent updates are always. That is why it was surprising that the Nord series would be launching with OxygenOS based on Android 10, rather... Read more...
It’s been a busy, transformative year for OnePlus. After releasing the $699 OnePlus 8 and $899 OnePlus 8 Pro flagship back in April, it launched the €399 OnePlus Nord mid-range device in July, and the $749 OnePlus 8T in October. We were very impressed with the Nord, but it wasn’t destined for our shores. OnePlus promised to remedy this by introducing a variant of the Nord for the US market, which brings us to today’s phone. Behold the €349 ($415) OnePlus Nord N10 5G. It’s a completely different 5G handset from the original Nord that swaps the Snapdragon 765G for a Snapdragon 690, and the 6.44-inch AMOLED screen for a 6.49-inch IPS display. OnePlus sent us a European... Read more...
When we reviewed the OnePlus 8T last month, we concluded that it was a great phone that was in dire need of a price cut. Priced at $749, the OnePlus 8T just didn't make a strong case for itself given not only the competition from other smartphones -- like the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE -- but also its own siblings like the $599 OnePlus 8. It appears that OnePlus has been listening to the many pricing complaints from around the internet, as it is currently running a deal on the OnePlus 8T that is sure to get your attention. The only hiccup with this deal is that you have to be in the market for two smartphones at the same time. If you were to purchase one OnePlus 8T, you'll pay the regular... Read more...
Cyberpunk 2077 is CD Projekt Red’s upcoming and highly anticipated game set for release on December 10th. Though the game has faced delays, gamers are still excited for Night City and the world of Cyberpunk 2077. OnePlus, the phone manufacturer, is using this excitement to its advantage by releasing a Cyberpunk 2077 themed OnePlus 8T at CNY 3999. Reservations kicked off today, and there will be limited sales on November 11th. The OnePlus 8T, though pricey, is still a solid phone. In our review, we found that the features were decent, but at $749, it just was not the value proposition we had seen from other OnePlus devices. The Cyberpunk 2077 edition of the phone at CNY 5999 ($600 USD) could... Read more...
Over the summer, OnePlus introduced its rather intriguing Nord smartphone which offered a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G chipset, a beautiful 90Hz OLED display, and value pricing (around $499). However, OnePlus did not specifically market the smartphone for the U.S. market, which many saw as a mistake that needed to be rectified.  Fast forward to today, and the OnePlus Nord N10 5G is being introduced, and yes, it will be available here in the United States. The Nord N10 5G includes a 6.49-inch Full HD+ 90Hz display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Interestingly for a OnePlus device, it's also expandable to 512GB with a microSD slot. The company has incorporated... Read more...
We got our hands on the OnePlus 8T for review earlier this month, and put it through the usual benchmark regimen, took photos with its [many] cameras, and pondered about its place on OnePlus' smartphone lineup. Today, however, is the big day when you can actually purchase the device to add to your tech arsenal. There are a number of places where you can purchase the OnePlus 8T including direct from OnePlus. T-Mobile is also offering its own unique version of the OnePlus T that comes with an added bonus not afforded to the unlocked versions -- an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. However, we'd image that many people will likely end up buying the smartphone from... Read more...
Over the summer, we reviewed the OnePlus Buds, which are true wireless earbuds with surprisingly good sound quality for a reasonable $79. Compared to the $129 Apple AirPods, the OnePlus Buds represented a refreshing alternative (as well as a foil for U.S. Customs and Border Protection). Now, the company is back with a new set of wireless earbuds that are launching alongside the OnePlus 8T (you can read the HotHardware review here), and they're called the OnePlus Buds Z. If you thought that OnePlus was being aggressive with the original Buds, you haven't seen anything yet. The OnePlus Buds Z are being offered at an incredible $45.99. And despite the lower price, in some ways,... Read more...
Back in April, OnePlus wowed us with the $899 OnePus 8 Pro -- its first bonafide flagship. We were less enamored with the $699 OnePlus 8, which -- while still being a great phone -- cut a few too many corners (no telephoto, no wireless charging), and cost too much for an affordable flagship. Then in July, the €399 OnePlus Nord rekindled our excitement by redefining the premium mid-range handset. It just wasn’t destined for the US -- yet. Which brings us to today’s $749 OnePlus 8T, the direct successor to the OnePlus 8. It comes with more base RAM/storage (12/256GB), a flatter 120Hz screen, a better 5MP macro, a larger 4500mAh battery, and faster 65W charging. But is all this... Read more...
When we reviewed the OnePlus Nord earlier this summer, we came away impressed by its features and performance. What made the Nord so compelling is that it offered a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC and requisite 5G connectivity for under $500. The only big drawback, however, was that it is not officially offered for sale in the United States. While OnePlus still has no plans to make this version of the Nord widely available in the United States, you still have a chance to get your hands on the smartphone. OnePlus is making available a closed beta, which will give participants the chance to get their hands on the Nord. The company described the closed beta process, writing: The Closed Beta... It did not take long for details about the upcoming OnePlus 8T to make their way into the world from the announcement the other day. Now, Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, and OnePlus themselves, tweeted about the 8T. These tweets confirmed 65W warp charging as well as a 120Hz display (a step up from the 90Hz display on the OnePlus 8). The big thing coming to the OnePlus 8T is the new Warp Charge 65, a brand-new technology for OnePlus. According to OnePlus, Warp Charge 65 “is capable of filling up the OnePlus 8T’s 4500mAh battery fully in 39 minutes, and almost 58% in just 15 minutes.” It is not, however, shoving 65W into one battery as that could cause safety issues. The OnePlus 8T... Read more...
Typically, OnePlus devices get a refresh in the form of a new device with a “T” attached to the model. OnePlus has announced this routine is happening again this year with the launch of the OnePlus 8T coming October 14th at 10AM EST. According to the founder and CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau, "OnePlus is always looking for opportunities to bring the latest technology to our tech-savvy users as soon as we feel it meets our high standards.” According to Lau, they are “raising the bar” again and introducing some new features for a OnePlus device. Earlier in September, we received some leaks about the OnePlus 8T. The main feature and step-up from the OnePlus 8 would be the... Read more...
When we reviewed the OnePlus Nord back in late July, we came away impressed with the smartphone’s feature set, performance, and price. Delivering 5G connectivity for less than $499 is a great start, but OnePlus has no intentions of bringing that particular Nord to the United States, which is a bummer. What we do now know, however, is that OnePlus is looking to expands its Nord brand into a whole family of devices, including models that will come to the United States. A fresh report from Android Central is indicating that a new model that is bound for this market will be called the Nord N10 5G, and that it will represent an even greater bargain for those that... The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has quite a bit of egg on its face this evening after a tweet that it posted went viral. The Washington, D.C. based agency’s mission — as stated on its Twitter profile — is to “[Secure] our nation's borders”  “facilitating lawful international travel & trade.” As part of this mission, the CBP gleefully explained that it seized 2,000 counterfeit Apple AirPods that arrived in the United States from Hong Kong on August 31st. The counterfeit goods were discovered at an air cargo facility on a layover at JKF International Airport in New York, enroute to their final destination in Las Vegas, Nevada,... Read more...
Earlier this year, OnePlus introduced its newest lineup of flagship smartphones: the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8T. Both smartphones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with 5G connectivity, with prices starting at $699 for the less feature-packed OnePlus 8 (you can read the HotHardware review of both smartphones here). As is usually the case with OnePlus, however, the company releases a flagship “refresh” in the latter half of each year, and this year we’re looking at the incoming OnePlus 8T. The OnePlus 8T will reportedly share its dimensions with the OnePlus 8 (pictured above), including its 6.55-inch AMOLED display. However, the display will be receiving... Read more...
Smartphone makers have been successful in raising the cost of flagship handsets, with many models commanding $1,000 or more. But what about the other end of the spectrum? They have been less aggressive in pursuing affordable models, though OnePlus might be getting ready to drop the gauntlet with a $200-ish smartphone that rocks a capacious 6,000 mAh battery. Wouldn't that be nifty? Nothing has been announced, teased, or hinted...at least by OnePlus, anyway. However, an "insider source" with a positive track record tipped the folks at Android Central that OnePlus is building an entry-level smartphone codenamed Clover. Apparently this is the same source that accurately revealed some details about... Read more...

OnePlus fans in the United States were bummed when the slick mid-range OnePlus Nord launched (read the HotHardware review here), but didn't come Stateside. A new report has surfaced that claims Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, has said that a Nord-branded device will be coming to the United States this year. The caveat is Pei said the device wouldn't necessarily be the same smartphone that launched outside the States. Any Nord-branded device that comes to the United States would likely be a mid-range smartphone, but there is no indication of specifications or exact timing. Smartphone makers from around the world are looking to jump into the mid-range market with devices that feature hardware... Read more...
It’s hard to believe that OnePlus is already six years old. The company’s all grown up now. You can find the OnePlus 8 in T-Mobile and Verizon stores, and the OnePlus 8 Pro competes directly with the best flagships from Apple and Samsung. But this has come at a price -- literally. With the OnePlus 8 costing $699+ and the OnePlus 8 Pro $899+, OnePlus is no longer first and foremost a price leader -- especially in fiercely competitive markets like Europe and India. And now there's the OnePlus Nord. In an outstanding example of masterful marketing, the company has spent months building up hype for a quality sub-$500 5G smartphone that lives up to its “Never Settle” catchphrase.... Read more...
If there’s still any doubt that truly wireless earbuds are a thing, let us introduce you, dear reader, to the second wave -- exemplified by the OnePlus Buds. See, the first wave really took off when Apple introduced the original AirPods -- meh sound, OK battery life, high price. The focus was on convenience, reliability, and calls. Other major brands followed suit, like Samsung, Sony, Jabra, Amazon, Microsoft, and most recently Google -- some offering special features like long battery life, or active noise cancellation, or tight AI assistant integration. You either spent upwards to $200 on these brands, or bought cheap (and often crappy) no-name TWS (true wireless stereo) earbuds on Amazon... Read more...
