After recently announcing that the launch of Battlefield 2042 would be delayed by four weeks, Dice announced both the dates and minimum specs for the game's upcoming open beta. Those dates are scheduled to begin with a pre-download on October 5th with the early access running October 6th through 7th. Open access will be given on October 8th and will close for all on the 10th.  Video games are becoming more detailed and immersive and along with that they are requiring beefier PCs to play them. Battlefield made fans ooh and ahh during the reveal trailer for the game back in early June. PC players more than likely began wondering afterward what sort of PC specs were going to be required to... Read more...
Battlefield 2042 is mostly all out in the open at the point, save for a few details about operators and the 'Seasons' system that the game will have. However, leaker Tom Henderson has us covered on the latter with some exciting details about all Battlefield seasons, which could give way to the most extensive game support in Battlefield history. Posted on Twitter a few days back, Tom Henderson outlines what is to come for each Battlefield 2042 season, including new specialists, maps, weapons, vehicles, and more. However, the best part of this is that everything will allegedly be free for the first year before switching to the standard Season Pass model. While Henderson has a decent track record... Keeping a secret about Battlefield 2042 is like sailing in a boat with a screen-door bottom: it is not super effective, but it is most certainly exciting. However, we are only two days from EA Play Live, where we should find out more about the upcoming Battlefield title, and there is a lot to look forward to... The BATTLEHUB What has been dubbed the “love letter” to core Battlefield fans, the rumored “BATTLEHUB” is quite interesting, from what we have heard. According to past rumors, the “BATTLEHUB” will reportedly bring multiple generations of Battlefields into one epic sandbox experience. With this, maps, weapons, vehicles, and more are being ported to the... Read more...
A few weeks back, we heard about the potential for some old Battlefield maps making their way to Battlefield 2042 through a rumored “Battlehub” game mode. It appears that some developers are rather excited about this reported “love letter to fans,” as a new mention about the “REDACTED” game mode has slipped out. During EA Play’s Live Spotlight Series today, GM of Ripple Effect Studios (formerly DICE LA) Christian Grass confirmed that fan-favorite Battlefield maps would be coming to Battlefield 2042. While he explained that it would be a while before we hear about the whole thing, this confirmation solidifies previous leaks. I can't say that much about... Read more...
Though both engine and gameplay footage from Battlefield 2042 was shown off during the reveal period earlier this month, there are still some unknowns about the game. The most prominent of these is the fourth “[REDACTED]” game mode, which is described by the Battlefield 2042 team as “a love letter to our core fans,” and that it will be a “new way to play Battlefield.” Now, Battlefield leaker Tom Henderson believes that the unannounced mode may contain remastered maps with weaponry and vehicles from all eras of Battlefield. In his latest video posted on Monday, Tom Henderson first goes over what he calls the “Battlefield Hub” or “BattleHub,”... Read more...

Battlefield 2042 has been announced and shown off through game engine and gameplay footage during the past week. More recently, EA performed its first Battlefield Briefing, which gave a closer look at the upcoming game. In that briefing, which was recently updated, we found out that Battlefield 2042 will be introducing artificial intelligence soldiers to the series. One of the most frustrating things about playing games is when you want to play, but the player base is not what it once was. Sometimes all you can find are empty servers, which can also prove to be very disappointing. However, Battlefield 2042 is bringing AI soldiers to the battlefield to fill up those empty slots to combat this... Read more...

Now, the team behind the game series has released game footage that looks incredible. Wednesday’s Battlefield reveal showed off quite a bit about the upcoming game, like the multiplayer changes and new maps. Spanning across up to seven different maps, up to 128 players will fight in an all-out war for survival. Facing natural disasters like never seen before in a Battlefield game, the maps will constantly shift and change, modifying how players play. Also, new “specialists” have been... Read more...

The World-Changing Years Leading Up To 2042 In the years leading up to 2042, humans faced several world-changing events like super-storms, depressions, food and fuel shortages, and countries collapsing. This has led to "the greatest crisis in human history," with over 1.2 billion people left without homes and countries locking down their borders. This weekend, Battlefield has also been trying to get hype up surrounding the game, which gives us insight into what is to come. On Friday, several different content creators were messaged by the Battlefield team about an incoming message. People like Lirik or JacksFrags were sent this “transmission” with some words blurred out in each message; however, they all have different words removed. When putting the messages together, a whole transmission could be assembled and read, which you can see below. Battlefield just DM'd me this... 🤔 pic.twitter.com/fKh41Ya71M —... Read more...
Over the past few weeks, we have been drip-fed Battlefield leaks, including videos, images, and audio around the web. Now, a Battlefield 6 video has leaked onto the unofficial Battlefield subreddit, confirming everything we have seen so far. However, is this the real McCoy or is this video something else? The video, which was streamed on Discord and you can see here (with an epilepsy warning), shows several scenes which we have seen in previous leaks. This includes the initial helicopter approaching a rocket and the failed rocket launch before collapsing on a building, among other recognizable snippets. Of course, this trailer also has the obnoxious LOL guy watermark, but that may be for a good... Read more...
Yesterday, we saw many images and a video that was supposedly from EA's upcoming Battlefield 6 trailer. We are not ones to look a gift horse in the mouth when it comes to Battlefield 6 leaks, as some new images and a gif have now come out from what appears to be the same leaker. Posted to Imgur about an hour ago, the new ten-second video shows a rocket taking off and then tipping over and exploding atop a building. It is hard to tell with the distracting black flashes and obnoxious LOL guy watermark, but it does fall in line with the other leaks we have seen. Sadly, we did not embed the video just out of an abundance of caution for those who have epilepsy, but you can look at it here if you would... Read more...
It seems EA is leakier than a boat with a screen door for a bottom as more Battlefield 6 leaks have come out while we get ever closer to the official reveal in June. Images have been posted to Imgur, videos to TikTok, and gifs posted galore showing off an estimated 80% of the official trailer, which looks quite impressive when all put together. Four days ago, leaked Battlefield 6 images were posted to Imgur with a massive and annoying LOL Guy watermark; you can see the images here. Before these images were posted, a new video appeared on TikTok showing what appears to be Battlefield trailer footage interspersed with some real-life footage. The key takeaway from all of this is that the Battlefield... Read more...
Battlefield 3 and 4 were some of the most recent beloved Battlefield titles, but when the franchise went back to historical roots with Battlefield 5 and 1, some fans were left disappointed. With Battlefield 6 on the horizon, those same fans are hopeful of returning to the modern era of combat, and they may get just that if recent leaks are anything to go by. Levolution To A Whole New Level Introduced in Battlefield 4, Levolution was the concept that game-changing events would occur on a timed basis or through player action. For example, the Battlefield 4 map Siege of Shanghai featured a skyscraper that could eventually topple, effectively changing the map and capture points in the capture-the-flag... Read more...
Electronic Arts has changed the release date for Anthem, the online shooter being developed by BioWare, pushing it back to early 2019 instead of fall 2018 as the company previously stated. Despite the new launch time frame, EA insists the game is not delayed. Instead, the publisher changed the date to make room for a new Battlefield game launch, which it anticipates happening in October. "It's not a delay," EA's finance chief Blake Jorgensen told The Wall Street Journal. "People are trying to create a story." pic.twitter.com/5aNQcxpiBo — Sarah E. Needleman (@saraheneedleman) January 30, 2018 Call it what you will, Anthem is not coming out in the fall of 2017 as originally scheduled. Jorgensen's... Read more...
Electronic Arts and Dice are busy putting the final touches on Battlefield 1 in preparation for its release on October 21, but it's not the only Battlefield title receiving attention. There's a new user interface in the works, one that's currently rolling out in beta form to a small audience playing Battlefield 4 before being made available to Battlefield 1 and Battlefield Hardline as well. The new UI is supposed to make playing with friends easier. You'll be able to create a squad before you even enter a game, along with have the ability to switch between Battlefield titles. The revamped UI will also help ensure that you're able to spawn on your buddies as soon as you're in game, saving you... Read more...
Exactly one month ago today, Dice took the veil off of the next major Battlefield title. The oddly-named Battlefield 1 will take a break from more futuristic combat to bring us way back to the World War I era. While World War II-styled games used to be poked fun at due to the sheer amount available, it seems now is the right time to give ourselves a new-age WW1 experience. To say that the hype surrounding this game is huge would be an understatement. While we've learned the hard lesson of not putting our complete faith into launch trailers, Battlefield 1's was so good that even if it doesn't live up 100% it should still be an incredible game. Save the date - A new #Battlefield 1 trailer is coming... Read more...
It is time for every history buff’s favorite activity: analyzing the historical accuracy of modern media. The YouTube channel The Great War recently published a video critiquing the historical accuracy of the Battlefield 1 trailer. The trailer for Battlefield 1 was released on May 6th, 2016. According to Indy Neidell, the voice behind The Great War video, the trailer is a hodgepodge of accuracy. Some of the most spectacular moments in the trailer, such as the tanks bursting into trenches or giant, ominous zeppelins hovering, are actually historically accurate. The trailer often shows soldiers wearing custom armor or carrying weapons from the opposing side. One example is of a young woman riding... Read more...
The Xbox One, PC, and Playstation 4 are definitely not all quiet on the western front. The Battlefield 1 trailer was just released and it is big, bad, and beautiful. Yesterday the concept art was leaked, but today we get the full trailer. The game is set in an alternate universe filled with WWI-era trench warfare, naval battles, and of course Zeppelins. EA Games and DICE stated, “With Battlefield 1 we set out to create some of the largest create, most dynamic battles in FPS history while continuing to tap into what fans love most about the franchise. One of the things that makes World War I such an amazing era is just how advanced it really was. Almost everything that you know about the... Read more...
Battlefield 4 may be 18-months-old at this point, but DICE has made it clear that it has no intention of halting the production of new content. On its way in the near-future are two night maps, a community map, some new weapons, and even a new game mode called Gunmaster. The question that's been on many BF4 player's minds has been, "But is it free?", and BF4Central confirms that it is indeed free. For a game like BF4 which has as much paid add-on content as it does, this is great to see. The upcoming night maps feature will introduce night versions of Siege of Shanghai, Zavod 311, and Golmud Railway, and as the screenshots below highlight, they'll add some incredible atmosphere to the game -...
