Previously, we reported on the game-breaking bugs that cropped up when Rockstar Games rolled out a patch for Red Dead Online. Now, it seems Rockstar has taken to walking back their update rather than just taping over the holes with new patches. Earlier this week, a patch for the “naturalist” update on Red Dead Online lead to some rather interesting issues, such as horses not running correctly and appearing possessed (as seen below thanks to u/KnlKorn), NPCs vanishing or appearing ghostly, and guns not aiming correctly. After that update, users went to social media to discuss their numerous issues, which seemingly put an unfavorable spotlight on Rockstar Games. This spotlight seems... Read more...
An update to Red Dead Online has seemingly led to a whole host of issues for online outlaws around the world. This update has been anticipated for a while, with the promise of a new Frontier Pursuit mode, community content suggestions, and purported bug fixes. However, it seems the new content and bug fixes have opened a whole new can of worms for developer Rockstar Games. On July 28th, Rockstar Games released the “naturalist” inspired update with new content, bug fixes, and a battle-pass aspect of the game. With any new update, one could expect some bugs and glitches here and there, and that is what Rockstar looked to address with this latest patch. It seems, however, that they went... Read more...
Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is an elusive beast that has eluded [official] detection for years. The current “big dog” Grand Theft Auto V was first released way back in September 2013, and has been available across two console generations (Xbox 360/PS3 and Xbox One/PS4). It will even be available natively on next-generation Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles, which is quite unprecedented in the gaming realm. So, while Rockstar seems reticent to just letting us wait in agony for any news on GTA 6, it is at least giving us some new updates on its two current hot properties: GTA Online and Red Dead Online.  In the case of the incredibly popular (and highly lucrative) GTA Online,... Video game publisher Take-Two has one of the biggest video game franchises on the market thanks to Grand Theft Auto. The latest game in the franchise is GTA V, which is still incredibly popular despite having launched way back in 2013. Recently, Take-Two filed a 10-K with the SEC that shows what the company plans to spend on marketing over the next five years. That form showed that in fiscal 2024, more money would be spent on marketing than any other fiscal year over the next five years. The marketing spend for fiscal 2024 ending March 31, 2024, is $89 million, more than twice the amount for other years listed on the form. Analyst Jeff Cohen from investment firm Stephens believes that massive... Read more...
A pair of leaks have turned up on 4Chan that claim to outline details of Rockstar's forthcoming Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans of the franchise would do well to take these rumors with a grain of salt as there's no way to know for sure if any of these details are accurate. The leaker on 4Chan goes by Rhanadeng and claims to have been a friend of a disgruntled employee working on the game during 2019. The source claims that this employee allegedly asked him to anonymously leak information about GTA 6. However, things later improved, and he lost contact with the Rockstar team member. One key detail is that this person also claims the game has been in active development since 2016 or 2017, with pre-production... Read more...
One of the most popular video game franchises that Rockstar has ever produced is the Grand Theft Auto series. One of the games that fans of the franchise love that PC players haven't been able to get on Steam is Grand Theft Auto IV. That is set to change with GTA IV coming back to Steam as GTA IV: Complete Edition. Right now, if you go to Steam and open the standard GTA IV page, it says that the game is "temporarily" unavailable for purchase and to check back for updates. Players can search for the GTA IV: Complete Edition page, and as of writing, there is no purchase button. The game can be added to the wish list to be notified when the game is available. The game is expected the launch on March... Read more...

The new Red Dead Online content this week adds a new Legendary Bounty with bounty hunters able to try and apprehend Red Ben Clempson, who is known as a ruthless train robber and murderer. Clempson "fancies himself a bit of a dandy" with a taste for tailored suits. His suit is red, hence his name and the color makes him easy to find. Clempson and his gang were reportedly last seen near the train tracks in New Austin. Clempson is said to be a known sharpshooter making him a difficult catch. Along with the new Legendary Bounty also comes... Read more...
Rockstar is adding some new content to GTA Online this week. Part of the new content is to celebrate Halloween and is called Alien Survival. The description of Alien Survival talks about a long-rumored secret government program called Project 4808. The Alien Survival Series lets players play as an alien. The series lets players fight off wave after wave of armed NOOSE teams, FOB agents, and Marines across all seven maps. All Alien Survivals give double rewards this week. Rockstar is also adding a very cool new vehicle to GTA Online called the Western Rampant Rocket. It's sort of like a trike motorcycle with a big supercharged V8 in front of the driver. Other Halloween bonuses are being offered... Read more...
GTA Online fans have been loving the game's Diamond Casino & Resort update that brought with it gambling and general nightlife debauchery. However, players looking for something fresh to try out in terms of game objectives can head over to the bar at the casino and get hammered on shots to unlock a secret mission. All that is required to open the mission is to sit down and get smashed. The mission sees the GTA gamer waking up after getting drunk and being yelled at by the casino manager for taking a casino delivery truck on a joyride. The manager agrees to forgive the hungover player if the truck is returned. Before you can take on that secret mission, you must also own a penthouse in the... Read more...
A massive dump of allegedly leaked information has surfaced about the Rockstar title Grand Theft Auto 6. The leak says that the game is codenamed Project America and the leaker on Reddit is a user going by JackOLantern1982. The user claims to have two friends with inside knowledge of what GTA6 will bring to the table. The game has supposedly been in production since 2012, but was mostly a back shelf deal until mid-2015 and then little work was done on it while Red Dead Redemption 2 was in the works. The leak claims that the game will be set in Vice City and a new fictional location based on Rio de Janeiro. There are some linear missions set in Liberty City that aren't open world. The leaker says... Read more...
Rockstar is on a roll and doing extremely well thanks to the smash hit Red Dead Redemption 2 that has moved 23 million copies as of February 2019. That game is tipped to be in the works for the PC, and some are expecting at least one big announcement at E3 2019 this summer from the game developer. A new rumor is making the rounds that Rockstar will have something that will blindside fans to announce at E3 2019. The rumor started on Reddit with a user named Thirdeyereddit who claimed to be a Take-Two employee. Take-Two is the parent company of Rockstar Games. According to the Reddit user who claims to be "lower on the food chain," Take-Two was working on a landing page for something unannounced.... Read more...
PC gamers were not happy when RockStar decided to forego the PC launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) right out of the gate. The move was no surprise, however. Rockstar game fans know that the developer will eventually launch RDR2 on the PC, it just wanted to wait until the fuss for the game on the console platforms dies down, and then port it to the PC to spur sales for a second time. Rumors about a port to the PC surfaced for the first time in June of 2018 before the game launched. Those first hints came from a LinkedIn Profile for a developer on the game, but the profile was quickly changed. Evidence again surfaced in October that a PC port was afoot. Now, we have indication from two developers... Read more...
Take-Two has been basking in the glowing press and tremendous sales performance of Red Dead Redemption 2. The game was so well received right out of the gates that it made $725 million in its first three days of availability. Take-Two is the parent company to Rockstar, the developers behind the game. Take-Two has announced its Q3 earnings, and it trounced revenue targets thanks to the massive success of Red Dead Redemption 2. So far the game has sold 23 million copies through to retail. During the quarter Take-Two net bookings added up to $1.57 billion, exceeding expectations of $1.40 to $1.45 billion. That marks a 140% gain compared to the same quarter of the previous year. This holiday season you could potentially walk through both an actual and virtual winter wonderland. One redditor discovered a glitch in Red Dead Redemption 2 that leads to a snowy region. The area is one of several sections in Red Dead Redemption 2 that can be reached through a glitch. Redditor u/Huntroploria excitedly posted that they had “Managed to glitch out of the map...Currently exploring what else may lie beyond reach…” This restricted area lies north of the map and features mountains, frozen lakes, and an ice wall. The Redditor did not discover any Game of Thrones-style White Walkers, but he did find a few animals to interact with. Image via Reddit  There are... Read more...
Eureka! If you are tired of grinding to earn that Red Dead Online Cattleman Revolver or Arabian horse, you are in luck. Gamers can now purchase gold in Red Dead Online with real life currency. However, is this latest update truly beneficial to players? Many believe that the microtransactions are simply not worth it. There are two forms of currency in Red Dead Online -- dollars and gold. The regular cash is easier to find and can be used to buy items like weapons, ammo, and camp upgrades. Gold is rarer and intended for luxurious cosmetic items or things that are locked behind a level requirement. Gold can now be purchased with real money. Bundles range from $9.99 USD for 25 bars to $99.99... Read more...
The most successful video game launch in entertainment industry history goes to Red Dead Redemption 2 with $752 million in sales in the first three days the game was available. The praise for the game continues to pile up, but the same can't be said for the online portion of the game that recently entered beta. Red Dead Online was flamed by many who participated in the game beta. Problems that gamers had with the online portion came down to the fact that it was shaping up to be a microtransaction bonanza as the many missions gave out incredibly low amounts of money for completion compared to the high cost of weapon upgrades, tents, new weapons, and foodstuffs. One of the biggest complaints was... Read more...
It's not exactly easy to create a game that players love so much they continue to buy and play for many years after launch. Most games start to fizzle out only a year or so after launch, but Rockstar Games has created a game with serious staying power in Grand Theft Auto V, which launched in 2013. Five years later, the game has hit a significant milestone with 100 million copies shipped to retail. With the "shipped to retail" caveat on the number, actual purchases are likely less as copies are certainly sitting on shelves around the world. Word of the milestone for GTA V came during Take-Two Interactive's recent earnings call where the company announced net revenue growth of 11% compared to the... Read more...
Gamers have been looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2 for a long time now. So far, we have seen trailers, but it has been mostly cut scenes instead of actual gameplay elements. We now have a new trailer that shows us a bunch of cutscenes and mixes that in with actual gameplay footage, and the game looks epic. The slightly longer than six-minute video gives us a glimpse at most aspects of the game from the poker mini-game to schlepping your way around the open world, fighting hand-to-hand, catching fugitives, and shooting. You can easily tell what is cutscenes and what is gameplay by looking for the little mini map in the bottom right corner. That is really your only indication that gameplay... Read more...
PC gamers who felt left out by Rockstar because of no mention of Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to the PC should be thrilled to hear that's not the case. One of the developers on the game accidentally let the existence of the PC version slip by posting it to a LinkedIn profile. The profile lists that the dev worked on Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This is good news for PC gamers as it is the first direct confirmation that the game will land on platform. Pity was taken on the hapless developer by VG247 and his name was blocked out of the screenshot, so maybe he won’t get the ax for what seems to have been an honest mistake. Whoever the dev is, he lists that he was a... Read more...
Red Dead Redemption 2 has nearly passed into lore and has been accused of being vaporware by more than a few gamers over the years. The game was originally talked up with the first trailer back in October of 2016 with the promise of a 2017 launch. That 2017 launch never happened, but we did get the second trailer for the game in September of 2017. Rockstar also issued an apology in 2017 for delaying the game again, saying at the time, "We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer." Rockstar then said 2018 was the year for the launch. Fast... Read more...
PC gamers are very angry at Rockstar right now after what they claim are unfair bannings that the publisher is handing out left and right. The wide-spanning bans began on March 23 and complaints from a myriad of PC gamers were posted on Reddit, Twitter, Rockstar support forums, and other GTA communities. The gamers are saying that their accounts had been falsely banned for 30 days with no opportunity for an appeal. Rockstar has been very quiet on the subject so far with speculation suggesting that the bans are an issue with the latest tunables update or some sort of issue when participating in the Hotring series races. Rockstar recently updated GTA tunables with code changes for Hotring... Read more...
