That title lasted only about a week for Corsair because G.SKILL has just launched a new, and even faster 4x8 32GB DDR4 RAM kit. Corsair has unveiled Vengeance LPX memory, which it says is the world's fastest 4x8GB (32GB) kit. The kit consists of a quartet of 8GB RAM modules that are built with hand-sorted and extensively binned Samsung B-die ICs. Timings on the memory are CL19-26-26-46 at 1.5V. The memory kit is fully XMP 2.0 compliant, so users can get these high performance values with the click of a BIOS setting. Move over, G.Skill, it looks as though another hardware manufacturer is looking to vie for the crown of world's fastest DDR4 memory. The new challenger is from Corsair, which has just unveiled its newest Vengeance LPX 16GB kit, which includes two 8GB DDR4 DIMM modules. AMD has risen in rank thanks to its Ryzen launch and is once again a competitive force in the enthusiast market, but the roll out has not been without some bumps in the road. There are two main issues working to undermine Ryzen. One is that gaming performance is not where many thought it would be, and the second is memory compatibility. Samsung announced today that it has begun volume production of its 8Gb LPDDR4 memory chips, with expected commercial shipments in 2015. The announcement is noteworthy for a number of reasons. The DDR4 future looms increasingly large, as Crucial announced that it’s now sampling DDR4 server memory to channel partners who are working on platforms to support the latest generation of RAM. Last summer, Samsung started mass producing DDR4 RAM for servers and data centers, and in now the company is ramping up production in anticipation of a strong demand for the new generation of memory that will be paired with Intel’s forthcoming Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 products. Micron Technology, one of the world's largest makers of DRAM and based out of Boise, Idaho, has started mass producing next-generation DDR4 memory that will support server systems based on Intel's upcoming Xeon E5-2600 v3 product family. Next generation DDR4 SDRAM is right around the corner, folks. Leading the charge is Crucial, a subsidiary of Micron, which is pushing to make DDR4 memory modules available to consumers by the end of the year. We spent a little time checking out the Technology Showcase at IDF13 and spotted a number of cool pieces of hardware on the show floor we thought you’d like to check out. Samsung says it's now mass producing what it claims is the most advanced DDR4 memory in the world.
