Samsung has a bunch of new products that will be announced next week, and the most anticipated is likely the Galaxy S10 family of flagship smartphones. Samsung recently updated its Galaxy Wearable app for Android devices, and it lists several new items on its home page. The leaked items include a new smartwatch, fitness wearable, and earbuds. The new smartwatch is the Galaxy Watch Active, which appears to be the Galaxy Watch Sport that leaked earlier this month. The device sports a 40mm case and is said to come in at least two colors. Previous leaks tipped Tizen as the operating system and a move away from the rotating-bezel controls previous Galaxy smartwatches have used. No other tidbits... Read more...
It’s 10pm. Do you know where your selfies are? It was recently revealed that Popsugar’s Twinning app has been accidentally leaking users’ photos. It is believed that hundreds of thousands of photos were available to anyone who knew how to access them. Popsugar is a media company that focuses on trends, fashion, beauty, fitness, and food. Its Twinning app is a photo-matching tool that finds a user’s top-five celebrity “twins”. Users need to simply upload a selfie of themselves from the shoulders up through the #twinning app. They are then able to share their matches on Facebook and Twitter with a URL. The photos are stored on an Amazon Web Service (AWS) storage... Read more...
Bethesda can't seem to get out of its own way these days. The company has been beset with complaints about Fallout 76, a game that was highly anticipated and launched to terrible reviews. The unstable and bug laden game pushed some to ask for a refund on the title, which Bethesda agreed to for some gamers early on before reneging on that refund promise. A serious error on the Bethesda support website resulted in support tickets being viewable by anyone who went to the support page. Details on those support tickets that could be seen by anyone included the customer name, email address, and other personal information. Among the details leaked on the support tickets were receipts from Fallout Power... Read more...
When a mistake is made at a giant technology company like Microsoft, Apple, or Amazon, customers expect them to disclose not only how the breach happened, but what they did to fix it. Amazon has sent out cryptic emails to some of its customers that at first glance seemed a bit off and possibly scammy. The email received by one Amazon UK customer, which can be seen below, starts off stating that "our website inadvertently disclosed your name and email address due to a technical error." The email doesn't explain what exactly the technical error was but does note that the error has been fixed. Amazon is also clear that the leak of information had nothing to do with something the customer did, and... Read more...
When you sign up for the beta on a highly anticipated video game, playing said game comes with a litany of embargos and non-disclosure agreements. If you sign those agreements, and then turn around and break them, bad things can happen. An Xbox One gamer who was participating in the beta for Bethesda's Fallout 76 learned this lesson the hard way. To gain access to the beta, all payers had to click to agree to an NDA that prevented them from taking photos, video, or allowing someone else to watch them play the game. The player participated in the beta last Saturday and tried to become famous by recording and posting a 90-second video of gameplay footage to Twitter; a clear violation of the... Read more...
There were a lot of Apple fans out there who were a bit disappointed when the iPhone event came and went with no detail on the rumored new iPad Pro tablets. Rumors continue to suggest that Apple will hold an event this month where the new iPad Pro will get official. All we have to go on right now are tidbits gleaned from icons and rumor about the new tablets. Apple is expected to go with very slim bezels on the device with no notch; this style was tipped in an icon that was uncovered in iOS 12. A new leak has revealed some details about the 2018 iPad Pro that allegedly come from people familiar with what Apple has planned. One of the most interesting tidbits in the leak is that the new iPad Pro... Read more...
Best Buy isn’t exactly careful when it comes to putting out products or advertisements for new gear before it's time for an official release. Best Buy did this recently when it tossed up advertisements for new GoPro cameras well before the cameras launched. The electronics retailer has now done something similar with a fresh Chromecast device presumably set to launch next week at Google's event. A Redditor user named GroveStreetHomie went into a Best Buy store to pick up a Chromecast device for a new TV. However, the Redditor noticed that the device's packaging was different. Assuming it was a simple package update, the Chromecast was taken up front to buy. The problem came when... Read more...
Rumblings started back in June that Microsoft had some new hardware planned for 2019. Some were surprised when Microsoft sent out invites earlier this month to a hardware event that is suggested to be for the unveiling of new Surface hardware. One of the devices expected at that hardware event scheduled for October 2 is the Microsoft Surface Laptop 2. Ahead of that event, a slew of images has leaked that claim to be of the new laptop in its various colors. The colors seen in the images include a new black laptop that reportedly replaces the Graphite Gold version offered last year. Other colors include Cobalt Blue, Burgundy, and Platinum. As for hardware expected in the machine the same screen... Read more...
It appears that action camera maker GoPro has plans to launch a new camera series in the coming weeks. No official word about the new cameras has come down from GoPro, but the launch must be close because images of a new Best Buy display going up in at least one store have surfaced. The actual announcement and launch of the cameras are expected later this month. All we have in the way of information on the cameras comes in what we can glean from a trio of images that surfaced on The Verge and Reddit. The images show that GoPro is going back to its older naming convention with cameras with the Hero 7 White, Silver, and Black editions. It appears that the White and Silver cameras have no front... Talk of new NVIDIA Turing GPUs has left many gamers positively frothing over the last month with an alleged GeForce GTX 2060 5GB turning up on 3DMark giving us something to salivate over. A new rumor is now making the rounds that has to do with a forthcoming GeForce RTX 2070, and this card sounds like a beast with a launch date tipped for some time in September. The specs leak for the RTX 2070 will have some reaching for wallets in preparation; this card is tipped to have 2304 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 RAM. Those 2304 CUDA cores are packed into 18 SMs according to the leak. The tidbit in the leak about 8GB of GDDR6 is a nice surprise; previous leaks have tipped this card to come with... Read more...
Samsung has accelerated past providing teaser videos of its Galaxy Note 9 and just tossed out a pre-order page onto its website for all to see. It's quite apparent that Samsung is trying to drum up interest in the upcoming flagship, and we're sure that the company has plenty to be proud about. What we can tell from the pre-order page is that it is exactly like those press renders and real-world images that leaked last month.  The preorder page was spied by Evan Blass and saved posted to his Twitter account. According to Blass, the preorder link on the page didn’t work so we still don’t have an idea of exactly how much the device will sell for. Some rumors have suggested... Read more...
Samsung Galaxy Note fans have a lot to look forward to with the Note 9 that's incoming next month. We saw some leaked benchmarks turn up in late May and in those benchmarks the device was running an Exynos 9810 SoC but that's presumably for the non-US version of the device. More benchmarks have leaked and this time, the leak claims that the Note 9 in this run was powered by an even faster Exynos 9820 SoC. The new leak shows a device carrying the Samsung SM-N960X designation. It scores a whopping 4,089 in the single core test and 12,246 for a multi-core score. These scores absolutely crush the scores we saw on the benchmark leak back in May when the Exynos 9810 version racked up 2,737 on... Read more...
DJI is one of the top companies in the world of personal drones for shooting video and other content. DJI also has a history of having a tough time keeping its new products under wraps. The $799 Mavic Air leaked back in January and it was officially launched not long after that slip-up. Another DJI drone has leaked and this time it is said to be the upcoming Mavic 2. The Mavic 2 designation on the drone is clear in the leaked image. You can tell from the hands near the drone that while it might be larger than the Mavic Air it still appears to be compact enough to be easily transportable. The rumors circulating with the leaked photo indicate that the camera on the Mavic 2 is modular... Read more...
If you thought that the Equifax breach was a big deal, you ain't seen nothing yet. A Florida-based marketing firm called Exactis -- a little known company that specializes in data aggregation -- unknowingly exposed its database in a way that anyone who knew where to look would be able access all of its contents. The database was stored on a publicly accessible server, and within it were detailed records on 230 million Americans and 110 million businesses. Security researcher Vinny Troia of Night Lion Security is credited with discovering the gaping hole in Exactis' database, and told Wired, "It seems like this is a database with pretty much every US citizen in it. I don’t know where... Read more...
Over the weekend, we learned that the that Samsung's upcoming rumored folding Galaxy X smartphone could cost as much as $1,850 without a carrier subsidy when it launches. Now, some alleged images of a canceled prototype of a folding Samsung smartphone have surfaced. The device looks like a bad photoshop of two phones held side-by-side and had that prototype came to be, it's hard to imagine the device selling well at all. Samsung has reportedly been working on a folding screen smartphone for several years and these images of an alleged prototype phone show that the company has been on this mission for quite some time. Samsung had filed a patent app for a folding phone in December of last... Read more...
The image you see here is alleged to be a new Motorola smartphone that will run the streamlined Android One operating system. The device is called the Motorola One Power and is expected to land with the stylized moniker "motoralone Power". One glance at the smartphone and you can see that Motorola is following Apple's iPhone X and other Android device makers down the screen display notch road. For now, this is the only way to get the speaker, sensors, and cameras into the front of the device dominated by a screen. Despite the notch at the top, there is still a largish  bezel on the bottom of the device. As much as smartphone users loathe the notch it's a bit surprising how... Read more...
The rumor mill is at full tilt when it comes to the Galaxy S10 and the foldable Galaxy X smartphones that are in the works by Samsung. Way back in February, a leak claimed the Galaxy S10 would rock a Snapdragon 855 SoC and pack a 2Gbps X24 modem. A few days ago, a rumor tipped that Samsung had issued the S10 the codename "Beyond". We've also had more than a few leaks that focus on the folding screen Galaxy X smartphone. Most notable was the leaked support page for the device that turned up in late 2017. Another significant leak has happened, and it gives a bit more alleged information on the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy X. The unveiling for the Galaxy S10 is tipped to happen at CES 2019, which will... Apple CEO Tim Cook and other members of Apple's executive team want employees to know they will make it very difficult for them if they leak inside information about the company or its products. However, at least one of the folks Apple is directly addressing wasn't intimidated by a recent memo posted to the internal company blog detailing how Apple will take action against leakers. Nay, this Apple leaker leaked the memo threatening to destroy leakers if they leaked any more confidential information. Cook may be in his office spinning his totem right now thinking this must be an Inception-induced dream. In the memo, Apple says it "caught 29 leakers" last year and out of those 29 caught, 12... We've been hearing rumors since late last year that Apple had plans to make a larger screen iPhone X smartphone called the "iPhone X Plus." The poor sales of the iPhone X might make some wonder at the business sense the decision to make a larger iPhone X would make. Apple iPhone X screen supplier Samsung has been scrambling to find other customers to use the OLED displays it can't sell to Apple, after production cuts due to lackluster iPhone X sales. Despite questionable demand, a new leak claims to show a display assembly for that bigger iPhone X Plus. One of the leaked photos shows a person holding the alleged iPhone X Plus screen digitizer in their hand. It still sports the notch despite some... Read more...
Details on the coming Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones from Samsung has been leaking frequently over the last few months as production ramps for the official launch. The latest leak has given up some details on the ISOCELL mobile imaging sensor that Samsung will be using inside the smartphones. The sensor is said to use a 3-stack design that will give the camera in the smartphone some nice features users will enjoy. A stacked design allows the sensor data to be exported from the image assembly at a higher rate. That faster transport will allow the ISOCELL sensor to record super-slow-motion images at up to 480 frames per second in full HD resolution. The stacked design would also allow,... Read more...
An image has leaked via Chinese website Baidu that shows what is allegedly a line art image of a coming Nokia smartphone. According to the leak, this smartphone has five cameras arrayed around the back of the smartphone. We can clearly see a series of smaller circles arrayed around the circumference of a larger circle in the leaked image. We would assume that the lone circle below the cameras is the fingerprint scanner, but there is no confirmation of that. Anyone who can count can see that there are seven smaller circles on the back of that smartphone. Since the leak tips five cameras, the other circles might be for laser element and LED flash. The source of the leak is claimed to be Foxconn,... Read more...

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will debut on February 26. Pre-orders will kick off on March 1 and then official shipping will start on March 16.
