Alleged CAD drawings of the Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone have leaked online and the smartphone looks very much like the existing Galaxy S8. We see the same curved edges on the screen out front but with thinner bezels. The back does show a revised layout for the camera and fingerprint scanner. On the current Galaxy S8 models, the camera is a single-lens unit and the fingerprint scanner is directly to the right of the camera -- a position that many don't care for at all. The S9 drawings, which are originally sourced from Weibo, show a dual camera layout on the back with those cameras stacked in the top center area. The fingerprint scanner is located below those lenses. You can guarantee that lower... Read more...
Gaming peripheral maker Razer started a teaser campaign yesterday that appears to show a person holding a smartphone. Not long after, a tweet turned up that showed the CEO of the company with what we assume to be that smartphone peeking out of his pocket. We have to wait until November 1 to officially see what Razer is cooking up, but thankfully someone appears to have run the phone through GFXBench giving us a glimpse at what might be hiding inside. The GFXBench results list "Razer Phone" as the device and then gives out what look to be solid specs for a flagship device in 2017. The screen is listed as a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 unit. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 according... Read more...
For those Intel fans out there who are waiting in anticipation for Intel Coffee Lake to arrive, some new information has leaked today. Word is that the 8th gen Intel Core parts, Coffee Lake, will be available starting in early October. That fits right in with the rumor we heard in early August that Coffee Lake would be launching in Q3. It's curious though that the fancy MSI Z370 Godlike Gaming mainboard that leaked recently, and is design specifically for the Coffee Lake platform, is tipped to not launch until Q4. It would be odd for MSI to hold off on launching that board until that long after the CPUs launched. However, this tidbit just in...     Technically, October is... Read more...

It may be time to update your Twitter password. A Russian hacker under the alias “Tessa88” claims to hold 32 million stolen Twitter account credentials and is selling the database for 10 bitcoins, or roughly $5,810 USD. The hacker supposedly also has links to the recent breaches of LinkedIn and Myspace. Another Russian hacker claimed to have stolen passwords from Gmail and Yahoo in May. LeakedSource argues that this was not a leak and that the supposed “hacker” is blowing smoke. LeakedSource claimed that out of the fifteen users they asked, all fifteen were able to verify their passwords. They insist that instead, “millions of people have become infected by malware, and the malware sent... Read more...
When the first trailers for Fallout 4 hit earlier this year, gamers could hardly contain their excitement. After all, it’s not like a new Fallout game is released every year — “ain’t nobody got time for that” over at Bethesda. Would you like to know something else that Bethesda doesn’t have time for -- leaks. Unfortunately for the Bethesda folks, a slew of in-game screenshots and gameplay videos have leaked to the web which not only give away spoilers for the game, but also give us a good look at the game’s UI and character interaction. Perhaps the most interesting of leaks comes from four gameplay videos that appears to show how the game will look on the Xbox One. We’ve embedded one of those... Read more...
Late last week, we brought you news that Pebble is set to launch its next generation smartwatch on Tuesday. Perhaps the most interesting bit of information (other than the fact that the smartwatch is supposed to be thinner and a bit wider) is that the device will feature a color e-ink display. As is typically the case with new tech products, Tuesday’s big reveal was leaked early — and it was leaked this morning by none other than Pebble itself. A mockup image of the smartwatch is still hosted on Pebble’s website, and shows a sleeker device displaying flight information on a yellow background. Just how “colorful” this new e-ink display will be is unknown at this time, but it’s definitely a nice... Read more...

Information about RIM’s first QNX smartphone, codenamed the BlackBerry Colt, have been leaked. The Colt is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2012. This new smartphone is said to have a single-core processor and lack BlackBerry Enterprise Server integration—two key features that are likely to be a disappointment to users. At a time where most high-end smartphones are moving to dual-core processors, the Colt seems to be lagging behind. Although details could change before the phone is released, BGR’s source said the internal testing that’s happening right now with the Colt is with a single-core chip. If you’ll recall, the BlackBerry PlayBook launched without... Read more...
Motorola has made big claims for its upcoming Atrix 4G smartphone, calling it the world's most powerful smartphone. Indeed, the Atrix 4G has impressive specs, but many have expected that power to come at a price. Now that pricing details have leaked for the Atrix 4G, you may be pleasantly surprised or you may be disappointed, depending on what you were expecting to see from this smartphone. According to a (now unavailable) Amazon product page and a Costco inventory screen, the high-end Atrix 4G smartphone could be available for as little as $150. That's a terrific price, considering most of today's high-end smartphones have a customary launch price of $199. There's a catch, however: the accessories... Read more...

Along with the pics, internal documents acquired by Engadget suggest Dell plans to call its tablet family "Streak." There are two versions being shown off, one with a 10-inch screen and a somewhat smaller version sporting a 7-inch display. Looking at the spy shots, both models appear to come with a sizable bezel. Google threw a wrench in everyone's expectations when it announced that the Chrome OS wouldn't be widely available to install on just any machine. Unlike Windows 7, which can be installed on pretty much any x86-based machine, Chrome OS will be customized for a specific set of hardware components that Google deems fit. It's an interesting approach, but like Apple, it appears that Google wishes to have some control over the hardware that its operating system runs on. Google has informed us that a number of netbooks will be Chrome OS-approved, so to speak, but up until now we have had no information as to what specs would be built into Chrome OS netbooks. A leak over at IBTimes has stated that the... Read more...
Specs for the next-generation NVIDIA cards have leaked onto the web, but we advise readers not to place too much faith in these specs until the cards actually ship.On to the specs:“The GTX 280 enables all features of the D10U processor; the GTX 260 version will consist of a significantly cut-down version of the same GPU.  The D10U-30 will enable all 240 unified stream processors designed into the processor.  NVIDIA documentation claims these second-generation unified shaders perform 50 percent better than the shaders found on the D9 cards released earlier this year. The main difference between the two new GeForce GTX variants revolves around the number of shaders and memory bus width.  Most importantly,... AMD's highly successful HD 3800 series of GPUs is about to get a new member, the HD 3830.  Since the card hasn't shipped yet, all the details are subject to change.  Now on to the details:“AMD's Radeon HD 3830 will be based on the RV670 core and will feature a 128-bit memory bus, potentially providing roughly half the memory bandwidth of the HD 3850 and 3870 depending on the type and speed of memory used. All other features of the 55nm RV670 core are still included: DirectX 10.1, PCIe 2.0 and UVD.  The GPU still features 320 stream processors like the HD 3850 and HD 3870 revisions.”Topping out at 256MB of RAM and hitting shelves for $120-$130, the HD 3830 might be an incredible... Last week the injunction which forced Wikileaks "off the air" was dismissed.   In the wake of this, the bank that first brought legal action against Wikileaks has given up - for now.Bank Julius Baer filed a brief note with a court in San Francisco Wednesday saying it would voluntarily dismiss its own case, while reserving the right to file it again in the future or pursue it "in an alternate court, jurisdiction, or venue."BJB's sudden move comes a few days after U.S. District Judge Jeffrey White reversed his earlier ruling (which pulled the plug on the Wikileaks.org domain) and said he was skeptical of the bank's ability to win the suit."This dismissal comes in the wake of our private... Intel has been slowly serving up information regarding the company’s upcoming Nehalem microarchitecture for many months now.  In our sneak peek at Nehalem and Intel’s 45nm High-K article from way back in March of last year, we outlined many of the details regarding Nehalem, but unfortunately we did not have any projected performance numbers to disclose.  Some news broke today, however, regarding a PDF that was inadvertently leaked by Sun Microsystems that not only mentions Nehalem, but has some performance data listed as well. “So how can Intel pull off such a massive performance boost over their current reigning champion “Harpertown” X5482 processor?  Consider the fact that Intel’s... Seriously, is anyone surprised?Paying customers may not get their hands on Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 for weeks, but pirates can download the brand-new code for either today, according to searches at several BitTorrent trackers. The RTM, or release to manufacturing, versions of both operating systems can easily be found on BitTorrent tracker sites such as the Pirate Bay, which has made them available since yesterday. One torrent of Microsoft Corp.'s newest server operating system, Windows Server 2008, lists 42 "seeders," the term for a computer that has a complete copy of the torrent file, and nearly 190 "leechers," or computers that have downloaded only part of the... Windows Mobile 7 is currently being developed by Microsoft.  As usual, there's one of three things available on the Internet about it:  One person inside Microsoft gives a fistful of information about products being worked on, for laughs, or for money, or because they're unhappy, or because they're thrilled about it. Or perhaps Microsoft as an entity decided to leak out some information about their product to start some buzz about it. Or maybe somebody is just making stuff up. If so, it's interesting stuff they're making up.Windows Mobile 7 will use touch gestures, similar to how the iPhone does. You will be able to flick through lists, pan, swipe sideway, draw on the screen. A lot... Read more...
There is a rumor that the Eee PC is going to get a successor sometime in the new year.  Keep in mind that this is just a rumor, but the upgrade could be fairly extensive.  Early reports suggest that new Eee(e?) PC would feature a larger 8.9” screen, WiMAX, and could very well ride on Intel's new Menlow UMPC platform.“Should ASUS choose to adopt the Menlow platform for the next generation Eee PC, huge power saving will be realized for users. The current Eee PC uses a 90nm, 900MHz Celeron M processor running at 630MHz with the current official BIOS. Intel's Menlow platform includes a 45nm Silverthorne processor which promises ten times the power efficiency of first generation UMPCs using... Read more...
