If you are a fan of the Star Wars universe, then Electronic Arts has an upcoming game that is sure to get your motor running. Star Wars Battlefront II was announced earlier this year, but it’s the newest multiplayer gameplay trailer that has fans salivating in anticipation of the game's fall release. As we’ve previously reported, the game covers a four-decade span of time that touches on major sequences in the Star Wars movie universe starting with The Phantom Menace and ending with The Force Awakens. This is a big expansion from the Star Wars Battlefront, which focuses primarily on the original... Read more...
Although a teaser trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront II leaked a few days ago, Electronic Arts is today providing us with the real deal on the sequel to the original game, which launched two years ago. While Star Wars: Battlefront was multiplayer-only (and was roundly criticized because of that oversight), Battlefront II actually has a full single-player campaign for those that want it. In fact, the debut trailer for the game focuses primarily on the single-player mode, which introduces an all-new character: Iden Versio. As the official website for the Battlefront II explains, Iden is a “commander... Read more...

Battlefield 1 opened to public beta testers back on August 31st, and it’s been a whirlwind ride for gamers, developer DICE, and publisher Electronic Arts. The reviews for the beta have been overwhelmingly positive, with many saying that it harks back to the original Battlefield 1942 title, and first and foremost emphasizes having fun over managing intricate weapon load outs or battling it out in future dystopian lands. The back to basics approach has paid off, as DICE says that the Battlefield 1 beta was the “biggest beta in EA’s history”. A number of impressive stats were tossed out via an infographic... Gamers are understandably pumped for Battlefield 1. While other games of its ilk often look far into the future, Battlefield 1 returns to its historic roots (anyone remember the original Battlefield 1942) by setting World War I as the backdrop for gamers. And for those that want to get a head start on the action, the public beta is now available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. While the reception to early trailers for Battlefield 1 has for the most part been positive — which is the exact opposite of what occurred with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare — we’re pleasantly surprised to see that... Fans of the original Mirror's Edge will be happy to hear that a follow-up title is in the works, dubbed Mirror's Edge Catalyst. ME Catalyst revisits the dystopian world of the original game with a fresh new story that expands on the origins of protagonist Faith Connors. The beta test just wrapped up last week. It offered a brief window into the look and feel of ME Catalyst, which is the unofficial reboot of the original 2008 parkour adventure from developer EA DICE. Back then, while known primarily for their success with the Battlefield franchise, EA DICE gambled on something completely new with... Read more...
If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the latest installment the Mass Effect series, you’re going to have to wait a bit longer. While speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen made it clear that Mass Effect: Andromeda won’t arrive until around this time next year. “We have our Mirror’s Edge runner game this first quarter, and then we have Mass Effect, which is a sci-fi action game, in our fourth quarter,” said Jorgensen. “So big year ahead and we’re pretty excited.” Jorgensen is referring to EA’s fiscal Q4, which extends... Consumers love freebies. Whether it’s buy one, get one free or just straight up free without any strings attached, people will often flock to a free offer. Such has been the case with Windows 10, which is being offered for free to Windows 7 and Windows 8 users. Origin also understands the value of “free”, as it is giving away yet another game via its “On The House” promotion. The latest game to be given away for free is Need for Speed Most Wanted. The open world racing game isn’t exactly hot stuff anymore, as it was first released in October 2012, which seems like ages ago in the PC world. “Hit... Read more...
