EA Play Live has come and gone, and there have been some pretty cool announcements throughout. From Battlefield to Apex Legends, and even Dead Space, there is a lot to cover, so let’s dive in. Battlefield 2042 It seems the big thing on everyone’s mind is Battlefield 2042 and the rumored “BATTLEHUB,” which we should now call the Battlefield Portal. The Battlefield Portal is “a community-driven platform within Battlefield™ 2042 that will let you create and find fantastic experiences made by the series’ creative and passionate community.” Players will be able to build their own custom Battlefield experience through a web browser, tweaking team rations,... Keeping a secret about Battlefield 2042 is like sailing in a boat with a screen-door bottom: it is not super effective, but it is most certainly exciting. However, we are only two days from EA Play Live, where we should find out more about the upcoming Battlefield title, and there is a lot to look forward to... The BATTLEHUB What has been dubbed the “love letter” to core Battlefield fans, the rumored “BATTLEHUB” is quite interesting, from what we have heard. According to past rumors, the “BATTLEHUB” will reportedly bring multiple generations of Battlefields into one epic sandbox experience. With this, maps, weapons, vehicles, and more are being ported to the... Read more...
Battlefield 2042 is one of the most anticipated games set for release during the latter half of 2021, and excitement is building. Fortunately, developer DICE continues to drop little nuggets of information about the game, and the latest revolves around crossplay on supported gaming platforms. Crossplay will be supported across PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 consoles, starting with the Technical Playtest. It's further explained that PC and console users can opt-out of playing with gamers on other platforms if they choose. Crossplay is also supported between legacy Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, but they won't be able to join in with PCs and current-generation consoles.... Read more...
A few weeks back, we heard about the potential for some old Battlefield maps making their way to Battlefield 2042 through a rumored “Battlehub” game mode. It appears that some developers are rather excited about this reported “love letter to fans,” as a new mention about the “REDACTED” game mode has slipped out. During EA Play’s Live Spotlight Series today, GM of Ripple Effect Studios (formerly DICE LA) Christian Grass confirmed that fan-favorite Battlefield maps would be coming to Battlefield 2042. While he explained that it would be a while before we hear about the whole thing, this confirmation solidifies previous leaks. I can't say that much about... Read more...
Though both engine and gameplay footage from Battlefield 2042 was shown off during the reveal period earlier this month, there are still some unknowns about the game. The most prominent of these is the fourth “[REDACTED]” game mode, which is described by the Battlefield 2042 team as “a love letter to our core fans,” and that it will be a “new way to play Battlefield.” Now, Battlefield leaker Tom Henderson believes that the unannounced mode may contain remastered maps with weaponry and vehicles from all eras of Battlefield. In his latest video posted on Monday, Tom Henderson first goes over what he calls the “Battlefield Hub” or “BattleHub,”... Read more...

Gamers are now overloading Battlefield 4 servers and creating some awesome content involving the upcoming game. This outpouring of support is amazing to see, so let us look at some of what has happened and what you should keep an eye on… Battlefield 4 Server Overload Yesterday, EA community manager EA_Straatford made a Battlefield 4 forum post explaining that many players had jumped back into Battlefield 4 to “get a taste of the return to all-out-warfare.” This mass influx of players led to “queue times in the US West region were far longer than in other... Battlefield 2042 has been announced and shown off through game engine and gameplay footage during the past week. More recently, EA performed its first Battlefield Briefing, which gave a closer look at the upcoming game. In that briefing, which was recently updated, we found out that Battlefield 2042 will be introducing artificial intelligence soldiers to the series. One of the most frustrating things about playing games is when you want to play, but the player base is not what it once was. Sometimes all you can find are empty servers, which can also prove to be very disappointing. However, Battlefield 2042 is bringing AI soldiers to the battlefield to fill up those empty slots to combat this... Read more...
On June 9th, EA and DICE unveiled the latest in the Battlefield series: Battlefield 2042. At the time, we got a glimpse of the game through game engine footage and the Battlefield 2042 website. Now, the team behind the game series has released game footage that looks incredible. Wednesday’s Battlefield reveal showed off quite a bit about the upcoming game, like the multiplayer changes and new maps. Spanning across up to seven different maps, up to 128 players will fight in an all-out war for survival. Facing natural disasters like never seen before in a Battlefield game, the maps will constantly shift and change, modifying how players play. Also, new “specialists” have been... Read more...

Cybersecurity is a hot topic nowadays, with attacks happening frequently like the Colonial Pipeline or JBS Global ransomware attacks. Now, it appears that EA is facing its own issues after hackers allegedly managed to exfiltrate around 780GB of source code, frameworks, and engine tools from the company. Recently, hackers began boasting about their recent EA attack on private hacking forums. In the posts, the hackers explained that they took FIFA 21 source code, Frostbite engine source code and tools, proprietary EA frameworks and software development kits, and code bundles to streamline game development. This adds up to 780GB of data which has gone up for sale on a variety of forums for "Only... Read more...
In the last few months and even hours, we have seen numerous leaks and rumors about the upcoming Battlefield title, and it all comes to a head today. The trailer is now out there, and the store page is now live, so let's look at all we know about Battlefield 2042... The World-Changing Years Leading Up To 2042 In the years leading up to 2042, humans faced several world-changing events like super-storms, depressions, food and fuel shortages, and countries collapsing. This has led to "the greatest crisis in human history," with over 1.2 billion people left without homes and countries locking down their borders. These people, called the Non-Patriated or No-Pats, band together and become a staple... Read more...

We are on the cusp of a new Battlefield announcement after months of leaks, rumors, and misinformation running amok. This weekend, Battlefield has also been trying to get hype up surrounding the game, which gives us insight into what is to come. On Friday, several different content creators were messaged by the Battlefield team about an incoming message. People like Lirik or JacksFrags were sent this “transmission” with some words blurred out in each message; however, they all have different words removed. When putting the messages together, a whole transmission could be assembled and read, which you can see below. Battlefield just DM'd me this... 🤔 pic.twitter.com/fKh41Ya71M —... Read more...
After what seems like endless trailer leaks, Electronic Arts (EA) announced today that the latest game in the Battlefield franchise, led by DICE, will be revealed next Wednesday (June 9th). The event is scheduled to take place at 10 am EST on that date, and we're eager to see what's in store for gamers. Although we're referring to the game as Battlefield 6, we're not sure if that's what the game's official name will be. There are rumors that it will simply be called Battlefield, but perhaps we'll learn more with inevitable leaks between now and next week. While the official reveal will soon be upon us, there's still a ways to go before the actual release, as the "Battlefield development team... Read more...
Over the past few weeks, we have been drip-fed Battlefield leaks, including videos, images, and audio around the web. Now, a Battlefield 6 video has leaked onto the unofficial Battlefield subreddit, confirming everything we have seen so far. However, is this the real McCoy or is this video something else? The video, which was streamed on Discord and you can see here (with an epilepsy warning), shows several scenes which we have seen in previous leaks. This includes the initial helicopter approaching a rocket and the failed rocket launch before collapsing on a building, among other recognizable snippets. Of course, this trailer also has the obnoxious LOL guy watermark, but that may be for a good... Read more...
Yesterday, we saw many images and a video that was supposedly from EA's upcoming Battlefield 6 trailer. We are not ones to look a gift horse in the mouth when it comes to Battlefield 6 leaks, as some new images and a gif have now come out from what appears to be the same leaker. Posted to Imgur about an hour ago, the new ten-second video shows a rocket taking off and then tipping over and exploding atop a building. It is hard to tell with the distracting black flashes and obnoxious LOL guy watermark, but it does fall in line with the other leaks we have seen. Sadly, we did not embed the video just out of an abundance of caution for those who have epilepsy, but you can look at it here if you would... Read more...
It seems EA is leakier than a boat with a screen door for a bottom as more Battlefield 6 leaks have come out while we get ever closer to the official reveal in June. Images have been posted to Imgur, videos to TikTok, and gifs posted galore showing off an estimated 80% of the official trailer, which looks quite impressive when all put together. Four days ago, leaked Battlefield 6 images were posted to Imgur with a massive and annoying LOL Guy watermark; you can see the images here. Before these images were posted, a new video appeared on TikTok showing what appears to be Battlefield trailer footage interspersed with some real-life footage. The key takeaway from all of this is that the Battlefield... Read more...
We have to wait a few more weeks before Electronics Arts unveils its next Battlefield installment, presumably called Battlefield 6 (or just Battlefield), as the publisher recently confirmed it will hold a reveal event in June. In the meantime, supposed screenshots keep leaking out, potentially providing us some juicy details of what to expect when the game arrives. One of the screenshots appears to show a robot dog. This is line with a previous leak suggesting Battlefield 6 will feature a controllable robot combat dog, with a setting in the near future. That leak came from Discord user Tom Henderson, who likened the dog to the Boston Dynamics BigDog, a legacy robot that served as a pack mule.... Read more...
In December 2020, we reported that EA swooped in and purchased Codemasters in a $1.2 billion mega-deal. This gave EA access to a quite healthy racing game portfolio, but there was concern at the time that the purchase could negatively affect consumers. It appears that EA did not waste any time with shenanigans affecting Codemasters games, however, as regional prices for F1 2021 could double or even triple that of F1 2020. Yesterday, Twitter user @RobotBrush posted a chart putting the global pricing for F1 2020 and F1 2021 side by side. It shows that countries such as China will face a 1.5x increase in price, whereas other places like India will receive a 2.7x price hike. Argentina is stuck with... Read more...
Battlefield 3 and 4 were some of the most recent beloved Battlefield titles, but when the franchise went back to historical roots with Battlefield 5 and 1, some fans were left disappointed. With Battlefield 6 on the horizon, those same fans are hopeful of returning to the modern era of combat, and they may get just that if recent leaks are anything to go by. Levolution To A Whole New Level Introduced in Battlefield 4, Levolution was the concept that game-changing events would occur on a timed basis or through player action. For example, the Battlefield 4 map Siege of Shanghai featured a skyscraper that could eventually topple, effectively changing the map and capture points in the capture-the-flag... Read more...
In November of last year, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition was announced to BioWare fans worldwide. While the Legendary Edition is not a new game, the hit sci-fi RPG series is getting a makeover that make the prior games much more enjoyable. We will cover many tweaks and changes, and now we have a release date for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition: May 14th. First and foremost are the changes to textures throughout the Mass Effect series. The new reveal trailer below shows this off, but it is pretty impressive when you compare images side by side. Overall, textures look less flat, and there is more detail than the original textures. We can especially see this in characters' faces, which look significantly... Read more...
Take-Two Interactive nearly acquired Codemasters in a deal worth approximately $994 million. In fact, the publisher thought it was a foregone conclusion, having announced in November that it had reached an agreement with the developer of Dirt 5 and other racing sims. But then Electronic Arts swooped in at the final hour with a better offer, announcing today it has reached an agreement to buy Codemasters for an implied enterprise value of $1.2 billion. Cue the State Farm commercial with the elder fisherman dangling a dollar and taunting, "Ooh you almost had it, you gotta be quicker than that." "Electronic Arts and Codemasters have a shared ambition to lead the video game racing category. The Board... Read more...
