No matter how you slice it, robbing a casino is real life is a bad idea—you may not get your hands lopped off or kneecaps broken like the days of old, but jail time is certainly an inevitable consequence. The same rules don't apply to video games, however, and come December you will be able to stage a daring heist as part of Borderland 3's first campaign DLC. It's called Moxxi's Heist of The Handsome Jackpot. It involves a casino space station that Handsome Jack built before he perished. Moxxi has it in her sights because it was her "dream project" before Jack stole it all for himself, when the two broke up. We have all been there, right? "This heist is as personal as it gets, and you'll... Read more...

Gearbox Software's latest game, Borderlands 3, is enjoying enormous success on PC and console, though some gamers have run into performance issues on both platforms. Fortunately on PC, adjusting the resolution and tweaking the settings can yield immediate results (though some players have already asked for a framerate fix). The options on console are a bit more limited, though there is a simple setting that could improve performance. The setting is also a bit deceiving. On the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro, Gearbox allows Borderlands 3 to run at 3200x1800 for more visual pop, with framerates capped at 30 frames per second (fps). This is the resolution mode. Alternatively, users can prioritize... Read more...
Easter eggs abound in Borderlands 3, and it can be highly satisfying finding them—both in the discovery and in the subsequent themed loot, often in relation to geek culture (like the Rick and Morty boss fight). One of the more recent discoveries is the One Punch Man boss, in reference to the superhero in Japanese anime. Finding and defeating One Punch Man rewards players with a legendary weapon, the One Pump Chump Shotgun. First, however, you need to track down the mini boss and defeat him. So, where can One Punch Man be found? Fortunately, he is pretty easy to find—he's in Lectra City on the planet Promethea. Heading through the doorway in the center of the Meridian Metroplex map... The launch of Borderlands 3 has gone well for Gearbox and player engagement is the highest that the franchise has ever seen. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has said on Twitter that on launch day Borderlands 3 had concurrent players that were about two times higher than Borderlands 2 ever saw. Concurrent peak players for the game via the Epic Game Store is estimated to be around 248,000 players. Steamcharts says that Borderlands 2 peaked at 123,496 players at its launch with a similar tracking service called SteamDB saying 124,678 players were playing at its peak. Those figures are roughly half what estimates peg for Borderlands 3. Pitchford offered no insight into how the game was doing on consoles.... Read more...
Borderlands 3 is officially here and gamers are already customizing the skill trees of their favorite Vault Hunters. The game also includes a wide variety of weapon types. Today we will dig into the pros and cons of the Borderlands 3 eight basic weapon types.  First and foremost it is important to note that players only start out with two weapon slots in Borderlands 3. Gamers will need to play through the first hour or so of the game before they can equip a third weapon. Players will leave Pandora on a spaceship and will then unlock that third slot. Players will unlock their fourth and final slot after playing through a long quest of the planet of Promethea. Most players will likely be able... Read more...
PC gamers know that some games need some serious hardware to be able to run at buttery smooth frame rates. Many have looked forward to the launch of Borderlands 3 for months, but the issue for some players is that they say the frame rate is low and that the game has visual lag. Players who have PCs that exceed the requirements for the game are reporting that they are having problems getting the game to run smoothly all the time. The most obvious fix for low frame rates is to turn the graphics details to low, but the game has nice graphics and fans don't want to compromise. So far Gearbox has made no official comments on the issue or the call for a frame rate fix. It's certainly not uncommon today,... Read more...
Are you getting hyped for Borderlands 3 yet? Fans of the Borderlands franchise who plan to preorder the upcoming installment would be wise to head over to Amazon, at least if planning to play on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. That's because Amazon is offering a couple of bonuses, one of which is a $10 promotional credit. The baseline Standard Edition of Borderlands 3 costs $59.99, and that is what you will have to pay upfront to preorder the game. If you are a Prime member, Amazon will email you a $10 promotional credit 30-35 days after the game ships. Yes, it's a bummer having to wait a month, but it beats preordering the game and getting nothing in return. There's also a second bonus offer.... Read more...
The insanity that is Borderlands 3 is coming in just a few weeks, and it promises to deliver plenty of mayhem. What is not insane, however, is the type of PC you will need to play Borderlands 3. Borderlands 3 is a highly anticipated co-op shooter that is coming later this year from Gearbox. One of the most oft-requested features gamers have requested of Borderlands 3 is the inclusion of cross-play support. Cross-play has become a hot topic in the gaming industry for quite some time, and Sony -- which has been reticent to jumping in on the bandwagon -- was dragged kicking and screaming into supporting cross-play with Fortnite. Now, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford has chimed in on potential cross-play for Borderlands 3. While many were hoping that support would be available at launch, Pitchford made it abundantly clear that this will unfortunately not be the case in a tweet: Some... Read more...
