If you’ve had your eyes on the GeForce RTX 3070 — and we know that many of you probably are after reading the HotHardware review earlier this week — you better have your index finger at the ready this morning. Even though NVIDIA delayed the launch of the GeForce RTX 3070 by two weeks to have ample supply of the cards in the channel for customers, at least one major online retailer isn’t expecting its stock to last very long. Late last night, Newegg tweeted that while it “will have more inventory than previous 30 series launches” on hand, it still anticipates that cards will sell out within minutes. That doesn’t give us much confidence... Read more...
It remains to be seen what the demand will be like for NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card, the big daddy of the GeForce RTX 30 series. What I can say is that pricing will start at $1,499, as NVIDIA has already announced. However, some of the custom models from NVIDIA's add-in board partners will cost up to a few hundred dollars more, it seems. In contrast, the GeForce RTX 3080 starts at $699, and has proven immensely popular. NVIDIA and its retail partners quickly sold out of available stock, partly because scalpers and bots flooded the scene. This prompted an apology from NVIDIA, along with a self-imposed Q&A explaining the shortage situation, and a promise to handle things... Read more...
In case you missed it, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 is the hottest thing to hit the PC graphics scene since... well, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti roughly two years ago. We tested NVIDIA's new mainstream gaming flagship yesterday and came away impressed by the sheer power of the Ampere GPU architecture, which doubles the performance of AMD's flagship Radeon RX 5700 XT and far outpaces the outgoing GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. The only thing left for gamers to do at this point is to actually purchase the GeForce RTX 3080, and luckily, cards from NVIDIA and from its OEM partners go on sale a little over an hour from now at 9am EST. NVIDIA has set the price of the GeForce RTX 3080 at $699,... Read more...

The Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD is currently on sale at Newegg for $30 off. The one caveat to the $30 savings is that users can only order one at the discounted price. AMD has encountered a lot of success with its Ryzen 3000 family of processors, which offer a compelling balance of performance, value, and power efficiency that gamers are looking for. While all of us would likely love to have a 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X or 16-core Ryzen 9 3950X in our gaming rigs, some of us with more limited budgets are instead looking at processors in the sub-$200 range.  That leads us to the Ryzen 5 3600, which is available right now from Newegg for a low $164.99. The retailer typically sells the processor for $179.99, but it is discounting the processor by $15 with the coupon code EMCDEDR23. You of course get free shipping with the processor, and it also comes with... Read more...

In recent months, most of the attention in the [production] AMD graphics card segment has been on the newly introduced Radeon RX 5600 XT. The card was launched as a competitor for the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti and came with a $279 price tag. Not to be forgotten, however, is the more performant Radeon RX 5700 that normally hovers in the $350 price range. Retailer Newegg, however, is cranking out a rather large discount on the MSI Radeon RX 5700 Evoke OC graphics card for those that are looking for a graphics upgrade. In case you missed it, NVIDIA launched its [widely leaked] GeForce GTX 1660 Ti this morning, and we've got a full review which you can check out right here. As most are well aware of at this point, the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is based on NVIDIA's Turing GPU architecture, albeit without Tensor or RT cores, meaning that you don't have dedicated hardware for real-time ray tracing. With that being said, the GeForce RTX 1660 Ti is being positioned as a replacement for the GeForce GTX 1060, but as our benchmarks bore out, it is actually more comparable to the GeForce GTX 1070. And with a price of less than $300, the card represents a pretty compelling bargain for those that game at 1440p and below.... Read more...
Gamers who have been holing out for prices on the Xbox One X to go down before they jump into 4K gaming might want to take advantage now. Newegg has the Xbox One X bundle that includes a single controller and a copy of the maligned Fallout 76 game for $349.99, which is a $150 discount off the normal $499 price. That makes this Newegg deal significantly better than the best price we saw during Black Friday at Walmart for $399. The only caveat is you have to be able to live with paying Bethesda some loot for the stinker of a game that is Fallout 76. Bethesda is still working on the game, but so far no significant improvements have been seen. Bethesda has promised better communication with fans... Read more...

Even though Newegg is one of the most popular destinations for enthusiasts looking to score the latest and greatest hardware for the gaming rigs, the retail giant is not immune to the nefarious actions of the hacker community. To that end, Newegg's website was hacked, and the parties responsible were able to inject 15 lines of credit card skimming code into the retailer's payments page. That code hid there, undetected, from August 14 through September 18 meaning if you made a purchase there between those dates, you need to be concerned. News of the attack comes from Yonathan Klijnsma, a threat researcher from RiskIQ. The injected code was able to steal credit card data from customers and sent... Read more...
When it comes to AMD's Ryzen Threadripper family of processors, the 1920X and 1920X tend to get the bulk of the attention. After all, the High-End Desktop (HEDT) processors pack in 12 and 16 cores respectively with bargain pricing compared to their Intel counterparts. However, there is one member of the Threadripper family that doesn't get a lot of attention, and that's the Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. If you're looking to score a deal on the entry-level offering in the Threadripper family, Newegg has posted a HOT deal on the Threadripper 1900X. While the processor usually has a street price of $429.99, Newegg is dropping that price by $50 when you apply the coupon code "NESOCIAL19X" -- without... Read more...

The side effects of the recent price gouging on GPUs from AMD and NVIDIA is now filtering down to sites that use affiliate links to generate additional revenue. One retailer in particular, Newegg, is cutting off the Video Card category for affiliate linking. Newegg attributes this change in policy to the fact that "Bitcoin has gone mainstream." "The limited nature of these cards have caused a shortage in which supply can never meet demand and thus many users are actively buying these cards as soon as they go in stock," writes Newegg. "So, this means effective in 7 days from now all VGA cards will be marked non-commissionable for the foreseeable future on all Business Units.” Under this... Read more...
Graphics card prices are insane right now, a direct result of the shortage created by cryptocurrency miners snatching up cards quicker than retailers than stock their shelves. This has led to huge markups on practically every mid-range and high-end GPU product, usually through third-party sellers. The solution? That is a point of debate, and interestingly enough, Newegg has begun bundling other hardware with graphics cards. This raises a question—is Newegg essentially masking the price gouging that is taking place, or trying to allocate a portion of inventory to gamers? That will surely be debated too. We have mixed feelings about this ourselves, based on the bundles we have seen so for.... Read more...

Facebook is home to nearly 1.6 billion monthly active users, so if you're a business that sells products online, why not tap into that resource? That's what Newegg is doing. The online vendor of computer parts and assorted other items reckons that many of its customers are already on Facebook, so for the sake of convenience, it's giving them the ability to chat with customer support using Messenger. This seems like a minor thing on the surface, but it's actually a pretty big deal for both companies. For Newegg, it's an expansion of its customer support and mobile shopping experience. Messenger is one of the most popular apps around, and it now joins Newegg's other customer support options that... Read more...
Despite the wealth of information that's come out of Microsoft these past few months on its upcoming Windows 10, it's remained tight-lipped with regards to two things most people want to know: what it will cost, and when it will be released? For that reason, I'm sure it's none-too-thrilled that etailer Newegg took it upon itself to give both bits of information to the world. At $109.99 for Home and $149.99 for Professional, these OEM (one PC) versions are $10 more than their Windows 8.1 predecessors. But, given the fact that Windows 10 is free for the first year to owners of legal copies of Windows 7 or 8, it's the release date that's going to strike most people as more interesting. That release... Read more...
