Samsung leads the pack in global smartphone market share, with over 21 percent command, versus second place Apple that sits at a little over 15 percent, and Huawei at about 14.8. Samsung and Apple both lost ground to Huawei last year, but if early indications for the first quarter of 2019 are on point, Samsung could come roaring back, due in part to the positive reception of the company's 10th generation Galaxy S series device, the Galaxy S10. Samsung's Galaxy S10 family is currently a trio of Android handsets, soon to expand to a quartet, with the introduction of a 5G-targeted variant sometime next month. To say the buzz around Samsung's launch has been deafening would be an understatement.... Read more...
A ridiculously high price tag will apparently be a barrier to entry for some, when it comes to Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy F flagship folding smartphone. Samsung unveiled the smartphone (in disguised, prototype form) last week, and today South Korea’s Yonhap News reportedly confirmed not only the name, but also the price and release date. According to the news agency, the Galaxy F will be priced at a lofty $1,750. To put that in perspective, the Galaxy Note 9 starts at $999 for 128GB of internal storage, but rises to $1,249 if you opt for 512GB. Samsung likely has limited capacity to build the innovative Infinity Flex Display, leading to the enormous cost that only... Read more...

Sam's has a pre-Black Friday special that will be good for $300 off a Galaxy smartphone. This deal will kick off ahead of Black Friday with the caveat that it is a one-day deal only good on Saturday, November 10 online and in stores. On that date, you can roll into the local Sam's Club... Read more...
When Epic Games' Fortnite first came to the Android ecosystem, it was an exclusive only for the Galaxy Note 9 for a limited time. Samsung and Epic Games still have a close relationship and Samsung device owners will be getting some new exclusive Fortnite goodies. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or Tab S4 owners playing Fortnite will get a Galaxy-themed harvesting tool, glider, and back bling. These items are in addition to the Samsung Galaxy-themed skin that was offered last month. Samsung also offered players a chance to highlight their best gaming moments while using the exclusive skin for a chance to play with some elite gamers. The grand prize winner of that contest was a Fortnite gamer named... Read more...
If there's one bit of messaging we keyed on, with respect to Samsung's recently announced Galaxy Note 9 flagship and its high-level feature set, it was the promise of a robust thermal solution that would maintain performance over time and under pressure. Samsung claims the new Galaxy Note 9 employs a "water-carbon cooling" system, with a heat spreader for its Snapdragon 845 SoC and associated circuitry, that's three times larger than the previous generation Galaxy Note. So we figured we'd like to put that to the test. Meanwhile, we've also been spending quality time in the test lab with none other than the OnePlus 6 -- an Android superphone in its own right, with 8GB of RAM and a near bone-stock... Read more...
