Samsung Galaxy Note 9 And Tab S4 Getting Exclusive Fortnite Goodies This Week

When Epic Games' Fortnite first came to the Android ecosystem, it was an exclusive only for the Galaxy Note 9 for a limited time. Samsung and Epic Games still have a close relationship and Samsung device owners will be getting some new exclusive Fortnite goodies.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or Tab S4 owners playing Fortnite will get a Galaxy-themed harvesting tool, glider, and back bling. These items are in addition to the Samsung Galaxy-themed skin that was offered last month. Samsung also offered players a chance to highlight their best gaming moments while using the exclusive skin for a chance to play with some elite gamers.

The grand prize winner of that contest was a Fortnite gamer named Hector Diaz; he gets to join a special squad that includes Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Crazy Rich Asians and Oceans 8 actor Nora “Awkwafina” Lum and award-winning artist Travis Scott. Diaz and the celebrity squad will livestream their gameplay on Tuesday, October 30. That same livestream will mark the debut of the new Galaxy-themed accessory kit.

If you watch TV, you have probably seen the Samsung Galaxy: Level Up commercial with Ninja calling up a random player to his squad. Samsung says that the livestream with Diaz will bring that TV spot to life. The livestream and accessory pack debut will happen on Twitch. The Android launch of Fortnite was the first major game release to bypass the Google Play Store; some estimates suggest that Google could lose as much as $50 million with Epic Games offering Fortnite directly and bypassing Google's store and fees. While only Samsung Note 9 and Tab S4 gamers get these exclusive items, all Android owners can play Fortnite with a compatible device and no invite needed.
