Two days ago 200,000 people pre-ordered the Tesla Model 3. As of today, the number has potentially skyrocketed to 300,000 pre-orders. Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk seems shocked by the number of people eager to get their hands on Tesla’s upcoming, more-affordable electric car. Musk took to Twitter this afternoon to announce that 253,000 people had pre-ordered the electric vehicle as of 7am EST. Given that it is almost 4pm EST as of the writing of this article, it is a safe bet that this number has increased to 300,000. 253k as of 7am this morning — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 2, 2016 Musk had only anticipated that twenty to thirty people would line up in person to pre-order the vehicle. But nearly... Read more...
It’s that time of the year again; the time when Apple announces a new iPhone and the faithful flock to their computer (and smartphone/tablet) screens to get their preorders in ahead of the official launch on September 25th. Apple opened up preorders at 3:01am EST Saturday and we’re already seeing some interesting trends based on the shipping times of various models and colors. In the U.S., the 5.5-inch iPhone 6S Plus has proven to be an early favorite with consumers. 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB models — in all available colors, Gray, Silver, Gold, And Rose Gold — have seen their shipping times slip to 3-4 weeks availability. And this lack of availability extends to all four major U.S. wireless carriers.... Read more...
One of the great universal truths of modern gaming is that preorders suck. The term refers to the practice of ordering a title at some point before it actually ships in order to get access to a variety of minor outfit tweaks, a few starting weapons, or a few boosts to early gameplay. Today, some publishers take this practice to truly ridiculous levels; the recent game Watch Dogs has no fewer than nine preorder options, and none of them include every single perk or capability. GameStop, perhaps sensing that there's pressure building against the model, wants to turn the dial up to 11 -- and create preorder-locked, GameStop-specific content.  According to financial analyst Colin Sebastian,... Been hankering for the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1? Your wait is almost over, and you can go ahead and pre-order your very own new Tab right now at places like Office Depot, where it’s listed at $399. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 features a dual-core processor, 1280x800 display, Android 4.0 ICS, front and rear cameras, WiFi, and several Samsung features such as the Peel Smart Remote. The tablet comes in 16GB and 32GB iterations, and the one listed at $399 is the 16GB version. The market for big tablets like this one is essentially iPad vs. the world, and despite the former’s juggernaut status, Samsung’s devices are compelling. They’re beautiful, perform well, and have plenty... Read more...
The wait is almost over for Nokia to launch its Lumia 900 smartphone on AT&T, and if you're super anxious to own one, you can start placing your pre-orders now. AT&T has begun accepting pre-orders for the upcoming Windows Phone device, which runs $100 with a 2-year voice agreement with qualifying monthly data plan (it's $450 off contract). Hang with us, the deal gets even better. We placed a mock order on AT&T's website and were greeted to a surprise message saying, "Your order is scheduled to be shipped on April 5, 2012." That's three full days before the Lumia officially launches. But wait, it gets even better. AT&T is currently running a promotion where you can save up to $100... Read more...
If you've been holding out for Lenovo's U300e Ultrabook ever since it was first announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month, today's the day you can finally order one, albeit it's a little pricier than anticipated. At CES 2012, Lenovo said the U300e would start at $799, and while that might still be true, the configuration that's currently available for pre-order starts at $959. A slightly lower end (and cheaper) configuration sporting an Intel Core i3 2367M (1.4GHz) processor, as originally announced, might still be in the cards for Lenovo, but this higher priced version ups the processing ante with a Core i5 2467M CPU clocked at 1.6GHz. Other specs include a 13.3-inch... Read more...

The Samsung Epic 4G Touch is coming to Sprint later this week, but there's still time to preorder the phone if you want to be among the first to get your hands on it. The Epic 4G Touch is expected to be available on September 16 for $199.99 after discounts and with a contract. Walmart shoppers can find an even better deal, however, as the big-box retailer is currently offering the phone for just $99.99 with a new two-year contract. As you'll recall, the Samsung Epic 4G Touch is one of the members of Samsung's Galaxy S II line of smartphones. T-Mobile and AT&T will also be getting variants of this phone, though Sprint will be the first carrier to offer it. The Epic 4G Touch features a 4.52-inch... Read more...
The media streaming dongle that the world has been waiting for since CES 2010 is finally available to pre-order. After undergoing a slight design change and suffering from a minor delay, Infinitec's "IUM" (infinite memory device) is now scheduled to ship globally by the end of this month. For those who pre-order now at $129, free shipping will be included. Furthermore, Infinitec is claiming that their IUM is the world's first dual Wi-Fi product for consumers, which gives it the ability to connect to two separate WiFi networks simultaneously. This will allow the user of the IUM to connect their computer's WiFi to the IUM without losing their internet connection. In essence the IUM will connect... Read more...
The media coverage surrounding Apple iPhone 4 pre-order inventory levels has been almost as crazed as, well, the whole pre-order frenzy. Not unpredictable for a new Apple product release -- and particularly a new iPhone design -- it didn't take long for the Cupertino company to exhaust its supply of devices for day-of-release shipments. So does that mean you'll have time to grow a Fu-Manchu mustache before being able to get your hands on Apple's highly anticipated next-gen iPhone? That really depends on how quickly your hair grows, but lest you mix a concoction of Rogaine, Chia Pet, and Miracle Grow and rub it all over your upper lip (we're positive this would be a bad idea, so please don't attempt... It's June 15th. Do you know where your credit card is? It's probably hiding away far in the back of your wallet, knowing full well that you're about to put a serious dent in it. Just a week after Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, announced that the next generation iPhone would be available for pre-sale on June 15th, the floodgates have opened, but things aren't going so smoothly. The iPhone 4 is scheduled to ship to U.S. users (along with consumers in five other countries; the rest have to wait) on June 24th. But people aren't waiting for that day to come. Both Apple and AT&T have seen their servers overwhelmed this morning, with most users reporting timeouts and "Store Down" screens. Few reports... Read more...
Apple helped us all get over everything we had just seen at CES by introducing an all new product in their notoriously tight product line, but few details were available at the event for consumers who were ready to buy now. We broke down the pros and cons of the iPad, which is the first major tablet PC to garner mainstream attention in the new decade, and now Apple is ready to break down some numbers themselves. According to a new press release from the California-based company, the iPad will be available in the United States starting on Saturday, April 3rd. That's only for the Wi-Fi models though; the 3G (AT&T) + Wi-Fi models will not ship until "late April." We're actually kind of perplexed... Read more...
The hottest hoax hopping around cyber space this morning is the supposed availability of the first Fermi graphics card in pre-order form. It's being 'offered' by obscure online vendor SabrePC.com, which has the XFX GTX 480 graphics card listed for $679.99, a veritable 'bargain' compared to its original price of $699.99.Word to the wise: Don't go coughing up your credit card number, or any other personal information, for that matter. While it's not uncommon for upcoming parts to leak to the Web ahead of schedule -- including order pages like this one -- there's little to indicate this is the real deal, and plenty points to the contrary. There's the memory size, for one (unless there's some rounding... Read more...
