If you own an Xbox One X and have been unhappy with some aspects of the Blu-ray playback capability, Microsoft's Mike Ybarra says that a fix is incoming. The integrated 4K Blu-ray player that the Xbox One X offers is one way that some buyers have justified the purchase of the console. $499 for a nice Blu-ray player/game console is palatable for lots of folks out there who don’t spend that much time playing games. The catch for some early adopters of the game console is that the On X isn’t performing as it should when content is played on a HDR-capable TV. Reports indicate that there... Read more...
There are more resolution options for the upcoming Xbox One X gaming console than many expected. We all knew that the Xbox One X, hailed as the most powerful game console ever, would work with 1080p TVs, 4K TVs and monitors, but many gamers don’t want either of those resolutions. What some gamers want is support for 1440p, which is WHQ or 2560x1440 resolution. While we haven't heard much on support for this resolution, the game console will support that resolution and do so natively. Silicon art is nothing new, though usually you need a mighty strong microscope to see the hidden gems etched at the microscopic level on chips and wafers. That is not the case with Microsoft's powerful Xbox One X console. Anyone who cracks open the chassis will be able to see a special piece of art included on the green printed circuit board in the upper right corner. The artwork is of a minuscule Master Chief sitting atop a scorpion, sort of in the same vein as a cowboy riding a bucking bronco. This is not a random Easter Egg—Microsoft is paying homage to Halo, a hugely popular game franchise... Read more...

We are an impatient society; we need everything "right now", the faster the better. Microsoft is looking to fuel this need for urgency with a new method for installing and streaming games on the Xbox One called "Intelligent Delivery". Intelligent Delivery strips a game's assets down to data chunks that are individually tagged. There could be tags for 4K assets in a game or for each local language that is supported. So, if you live in the United States and play a game that is enjoyed by a world audience, like FIFA 2018, you would only need to download the English audio tracks instead of countless... Read more...
