Much of the hype surrounding the Xbox One X is that it supports 4K resolution gaming, assuming you own a compatible display and are trying to play a game that supports that resolution. Even without a 4K display, Microsoft's user of supersampling meant that even gamers playing on a 1080p TV or monitor would benefit as well. Good stuff, but what about 1440p? Hang tight, because support for 1440p is coming soon to both the Xbox One X and Xbox One S. Microsoft's Xbox One X hasn't needed a lot of incentives for it to sell well with gamers, but with a cost of $499.99 USD, it's a hard pill for some to swallow for some - especially if they already have an original Xbox One. Regardless, as it turns out, etailer Rakuten (formerly known as Buy.com) is currently offering a stellar deal that could net you the console for a lot less than MSRP, and with bonus store cash piled on for future use. Despite its $499.99 SRP, Rakuten sells the Xbox One X for $514.99 before discount, but as of the time of writing, a coupon found right inside of the product... Read more...

Do you even battle royale, bro? Many people do, thanks to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), the highly popular battle royale shooter that is getting a full release out of Steam's early access in a couple of weeks, on PC and Xbox One consoles. If you own an Xbox One X, you may have been excited to hear that PUBG will run at 60 frames per second, though designer Brendan Greene shared some bad news about that on Twitter. After reports surfaced that PUBG would run at 60 FPS on the Xbox One X, Greene set the record straight on Twitter, saying it will actually run at 30 FPS on all Xbox systems, including... Read more...
The highly popular PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) game is releasing to Xbox One and Xbox One X next month, and as such, retailers have started placing empty boxes of the title on store shelves. One thing that stands out about the box art is a blurb mentioning that PUGB requires up to 30 gigabytes of storage. Whether that is actually the case remains to be seen, but gamers should prepare appropriately, especially Xbox One X gamers. It should be noted that Steam also lists 30GB of free space for PUBG on PC, though at present the unfinished title only takes up 8GB of storage when fully installed.... Read more...
If you own an Xbox One X and have been unhappy with some aspects of the Blu-ray playback capability, Microsoft's Mike Ybarra says that a fix is incoming. The integrated 4K Blu-ray player that the Xbox One X offers is one way that some buyers have justified the purchase of the console. $499 for a nice Blu-ray player/game console is palatable for lots of folks out there who don’t spend that much time playing games. The catch for some early adopters of the game console is that the On X isn’t performing as it should when content is played on a HDR-capable TV. Reports indicate that there... Read more...
There are more resolution options for the upcoming Xbox One X gaming console than many expected. We all knew that the Xbox One X, hailed as the most powerful game console ever, would work with 1080p TVs, 4K TVs and monitors, but many gamers don’t want either of those resolutions. What some gamers want is support for 1440p, which is WHQ or 2560x1440 resolution. While we haven't heard much on support for this resolution, the game console will support that resolution and do so natively. Some feared when they connect their 1440p monitors, they would be met with screen images that were simply 1080p... Read more...

Silicon art is nothing new, though usually you need a mighty strong microscope to see the hidden gems etched at the microscopic level on chips and wafers. That is not the case with Microsoft's powerful Xbox One X console. Anyone who cracks open the chassis will be able to see a special piece of art included on the green printed circuit board in the upper right corner. The artwork is of a minuscule Master Chief sitting atop a scorpion, sort of in the same vein as a cowboy riding a bucking bronco. This is not a random Easter Egg—Microsoft is paying homage to Halo, a hugely popular game franchise... Read more...
