As if we didn't have enough mounting evidence over the weekend regarding the imminent arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE), two new bits of information have come across our news desk this morning. The first leak comes via the official Galaxy S21 FE user manual, which is the most concrete information that we have to-date confirming the device's existence. The manual was obtained by SamMobile and is readily available for viewing here [PDF]. The manual confirms many previously leaked information about the Galaxy S21 FE, including IP68 dust/water resistance, support for reverse wireless charging, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and Dolby Atmos support. The manual also shows that the... Read more...
Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event occurred earlier this month with nary a mention of the rumored Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE). However, the smartphone has been talked up for months, and we've seen plenty of renders and even official marketing materials for the smartphone. A new leak from Max Weinbach claims that the Galaxy S21 FE could be right around the corner. Weinbach posted an image of what looks to be a retail store display for Samsung smartphones. You would see this kiosk in the smartphone section of, say, an AT&T/Verizon store or inside a Best Buy. The exhibit features Galaxy S21 5G and S21 FE 5G branding, which is a key clue that a release is imminent. If that wasn't enough, the Samsung... Read more...
We all know that Samsung is planning an Unpacked event for this summer to announce its latest crop of consumer electronics devices. Over the past few weeks, we've seen some substantial leaks of the Galaxy Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3. However, over the weekend, famed leaker Evan Blass struck the motherlode and released animated gifs of every product Samsung plans to launch. These GIFs show the devices from every possible angle in multiple colors. Galaxy Z Fold 3 The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is perhaps the most stunning device that will launch with its large folding display and tall/skinny cover display. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, this new iteration has three cameras on the back along... Read more...
It seems like Samsung can't keep anything under wraps these days. The second half of 2021 is expected to be pretty busy for the company, with several major product launches looming. However, nearly all those devices have leaked in the form of official press renders. So far, we've seen: Galaxy Watch 4 Galaxy Watch 4 Classic Galaxy Z Flip 3 Galaxy Z Fold 3 And now we can add the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition (FE) to the table as well. The smartphone has been rumored for months, but the folks at Android Headlines claim to have obtained an official marketing render of the smartphone. As we can see, the Galaxy S21 FE will be available in purple, white, green, and grey and looks similar to the existing Galaxy... Read more...
Samsung is widely expected to launch a new, cost-reduced version of its Galaxy S21 smartphone in the coming months. Last year, Samsung released the Galaxy S20 FE, and this year will see the arrival of the Galaxy S21 FE. Luckily for us, the Galaxy S21 FE (internal designation SM-G990U) made an appearance in Geekbench, carrying the same processor as the rest of the Galaxy S21 family: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. Global versions of the Galaxy S21 FE are likely to include Samsung's homegrown Exynos 2100 SoC. However, given that the Galaxy S21 FE will hit a lower price point, Samsung had to make some compromises. The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ are only available with 8GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S21... Samsung may opt to push back the launch of its upcoming Galaxy S21 FE (Fan Edition) smartphone just a tad, and announce it at the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in August of this year. That would give Samsung three high-end smartphone launches this summer, despite there not being another Note-branded handset on the horizon. For anyone who is not familiar, Samsung's FE variants aim to deliver a premium smartphone experience with the features it deems most important to Galaxy users, at a lower price than the non-FE models. It's a decent strategy—in our Galaxy S20 FE 5G review, we called it a budget-conscious Android phone with flagship specs, which is an appealing proposition.... Read more...
It's been a few months since Samsung launched its Galaxy S21 family of smartphones, which means that attention is starting to shift towards the next iteration of the Fan Edition. Luckily for us, some new information has come down the news pipeline concerning the Galaxy S21 FE, and it could be a compelling entry into the fiercely competitive smartphone market. Although the Galaxy S21 FE looks quite familiar to those that have already laid their eyes upon the standard Galaxy S21, there are some slight differences according to renders provided by OnLeaks. The Galaxy S21 FE is slightly larger than the Galaxy S21, adding 4mm in length and 3.3mm in width. The Galaxy S21 FE is also said to include a... Read more...
