ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe Review: Unlocked Android With 6GB RAM And 64GB Storage

AnTuTu’s latest benchmark returns a number of metrics ranked as scores, rather than frame rates or time to complete. We tested with the latest version of AnTuTu across all current, mainstream smartphone platforms including Android, iOS and even Windows Phone.

As you'll see in the chart below, AnTuTu returns four top level performance metric results that we are including here: CPU, RAM, 3D, UX (or User Experience), along with an overall score that factors in performance from all of the sub-tests.

The Moto Z Force Droid took top honors here, but the ZenFone 3 Deluze was not too far behind and landed in the second place position, ahead of Samsung's latest flagships and the ill-fated Note 7.

Moving on, GeekBench taxes only CPU cores in a handset (not graphics or storage), with both single and multi-threaded workloads.

The quad-core Snapdragon 820 in the ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe couldn't hang with the octal-core leaders in the Geekbench multi-threaded tests, but its single-core performance was decent. Surprisingly though, despite ensuring we were in high-performance mode, and re-running this test on multiple occasions, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe trailed other flagship devices that leverage the same SoC here.

Even before being exposed to the Commodore P.E.T. and later the Commodore 64 in the early ‘80s, he was interested in electricity and electronics, and he still has the modded AFX cars and shop-worn soldering irons to prove it. Once he got his hands on his own Commodore 64, however, computing became Marco's passion. Throughout his academic and professional lives, Marco has worked with virtually every major platform from the TRS-80 and Amiga, to today's high end, multi-core servers.
