Rounding out our testing, we ran MobileMark 2007 to assess the notebook's overall battery life while running a series of applications through a testing script.
We are using the standard benchmark settings from BAPCo, along with a few other minor system tweaks. The screensaver was disabled and the volume was set at approximately 20%.

The A305-S6845 did surprisingly well on the battery life test, putting in a time just shy of three and a half hours. This is one of the better battery life times we've seen lately. In fact it is only recently bested by the 3 hours and 44 minutes of battery life from the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 ultraportable with a 13.3-inch display. The A305-S6845's battery life lasted twice as long as that of the C90S, and a bit less than two and a half times that of the X205. To be fair, the X205 has a 17-inch screen, and displays are the single-largest power-consuming component of a laptop--the larger they are, the more power they use. The A305-S6845's impressive battery life can be chalked up in large part to its robust, 9-cell, 6000mAh Li-Ion battery.
