Far Cry
If you've been on top of the gaming scene, you probably know that Far Cry is one of the most visually impressive games to be released on the PC to date.  Far Cry gives us a taste of what is to come in next generation 3D Gaming on the PC.  We benchmarked the graphics cards in this review with a custom recorded demo run taken in the "Catacombs" area checkpoint, at various resolutions without AA or Aniso Filtering enabled and then with 4X AA enabled, and lastly with 4X AA and 16X Aniso enabled together.

Far Cry is easily the surprise hit of the year.  Powered by CryENGINE, the Crytek team has produced one of the most exciting and stunning games we've seen to date.  The game has also proven to be a worthy benchmark with the abiltity to tax even the most powerful cards available.  What was impressive in this test was the 6600 GT's ability to break 60FPS at 1024x768 with all of the in-game graphics set to the maximum.  The X600 XT trailed no less than 25FPS at that resolution and 23FPS at 1600x1200.  Once we enabled 4XAA and 8X Aniso, all cards took a serious hit to performance, but the 6600 GT continued to lead the X600 XT by 60% at 1024x768 and over 100% at 1600x1200.
