It's been a little over six months since ATI first announced the All-In-Wonder X800 XT, but in the months following the announcement the card never made it onto retail shelves. It's no secret that ATI has struggled through some supply issues recently with their high-end GPUs. Since the time that we were first introduced to the card, ATI has also informed us that some aspects of the All-In-Wonder X800 XT's design took more work to perfect than the company had originally anticipated. This card incorporates some new technology that was previously not available on older All-In-Wonder products, plus it's based on a much more powerful GPU and has double the amount of memory as the previous flagship... Hey folks, the mailbox is packed full of items, so it's time for another update. If your checking in for the first time during this 3 day weekend, make sure to check out Dave's review of the "Intel Pentium 4 6XX Sequence and 3.73GHz Extreme Edition Processors". Enjoy! Sapphire X800 PCI-E Review @ The Tech Zone "The Sapphire Radeon X800 is clocked at 391.5 MHz core and 351 (702 DDR) MHz memory. The 391.5 MHz core clock is a bit shy of the 400 MHz ATI specs. We're not sure of the reason why Sapphire would choose to downclock their cards from the reference specifications. They did; however, include an overclocking utility, Redline, that easily clocks the core to 400 MHz. They also... Read more...
Good morning all!  Most of us in the States are at the beginning of a 3-day weekend.  While I know I look forward to it, I also welcome the extra time to work on a couple of sweet pieces of hardware. Speaking of hardware, AMDZone has the X850XT Platinum on tap, an impressive looking card.  Make sure you check out Marco's take on this card too. ATI Radeon X850XT Platinum Edition Review @ AMDZone: "As you can see the card is equipped with a copper heat sink and large red exhaust fan. The fan helps to reduce overall system temperature by drawing internal air over the heat sink and expelling it from the back of the computer. On the back of the card you will notice the metal band... Abit AG8 915P Motherboard Review @ PC Perspective "Overclocking aside, the ABIT AG8 is a top performer. It is slightly faster than the Chaintech V915P even though the two boards use the same chipset and RAM, and are identically configured. Somewhere ABIT has done some engineering to this motherboard that has given it a kick in performance. Compared to the more expensive 915P using DDR2, it performs essentially the same." Happy Friday everyone, the weekend is about to get started.  This morning we have a good lineup of reading for you from great looking Albatron mobo to a thoughtful editorial on Blue-Ray technology.  You better get started, there's some good reading here. Albatron PX925X Pro @ Viper Lair: "Throughout all the testing the Albatron PX925X Pro didn't falter once, and let's face it, if your motherboard isn't stable, then nothing you do will make the whole system stable. Standard performance was up there with all the other 925 based boards we have seen, and even put in a few impressive memory and content creation scores higher than expected (nothing you would see except in a benchmark... Good morning and happy Friday to you all!  It's the end of another work week and the weekend is about to start. Personally, I can't wait to get out and enjoy some of this warm weather here in NC.  It's been in the 70s all week and I'm wearing shorts in January.  It's taking a little bit for this northern boy to get used to the warmer NC weather.  Also, thanks to HL2, I have not seen the light of day in about 3 days going on 4. I better beat this soon so I can get some kind of a life back!  Here's your morning news, have a great weekend! Good morning HotHardware fans!  We've got two new articles posted up for you today.  In the first we take a look at ATI's brand new Radeon X800 XL.  This card will appeal to anyone in the market for a high-end PCI Express graphics card, as its got all of the features of an X800 XT, but it's MSRP is actually less than $300! Back on December 1, 2004 ATI officially announced their latest flagship GPU, the Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition.  The GPU powering the Radeon X850, previously code named R480, is an evolutionary product designed to improve yields and hit higher clock speeds than the older R423 GPU used on PCI Express variants of the Radeon X800.  With some tweaks to their original design and a little maturity in their manufacturing process, ATI was able to release a "new" GPU that's faster than the previous generation, that should be easier to produce in quantity.  Bringing out faster GPUs isn't the only by-product of maturity though.  With time, most companies are also able to... Good morning everyone :)  Sorry about the later start this morning, I am fighting off a lovely head-cold which is playing havoc on my sleep schedule.  Nonetheless, our HH News Bin is filling up, so let's get the show on the road...  Legion Hardware - A look at the ATi Radeon X800 series "The Radeon X850XT is said to cost at least $50 US more than the X800XT and produces just 0.3 more gigapixel/sec. Most gaming titles struggled to place more than a frame per second between these two graphics cards, which is most disappointing given the price premium ATi have placed on the Radeon X850XT."  Sunbeam Transformer Case @ Systemcooling "Though I've mostly known Sunbeamtech...
