To say that the Galaxy Fold's introduction to the public didn't go as planned for Samsung would be quite the understatement. The launch of the highly anticipated folding smartphone was embarrassingly derailed after pre-production units failed at an alarming rate in the hands of reviewers. Samsung would later postpone the launch of the Galaxy Fold, and even told customers that their preorders would be canceled if they didn't directly reach out to "reconfirm" that they wanted their $1,980 smartphones shipped out. This week, another twist in the Galaxy Fold saga is underway as Best Buy has confirmed that it is cancelling all preorders for the smartphone. Best Buy says that... Read more...
The ink is barely dry on the announcement for Google's brand-new Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL mid-range smartphones, but a hot deal has already presented itself. Google revealed the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL priced at $399 and $479 respectively, which is already pretty reasonable pricing for these mid-range Android Pie smartphones. However, Best Buy is currently running a promotion that gives you a free $100 gift card with the purchase of either smartphone -- even unlocked models with no strings attached to a wireless carrier. If you buy an unlocked Pixel 3a/Pixel 3a XL, you don't even have to activate the device to get your $100 gift card. However, if you do return the phone for any reason,... Read more...
There have been a lot of rumors flying around about the upcoming mid-range smartphones from Google: the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. The cheaper devices are coming just in time for Google as its high-end Pixel devices have hit a sales wall. Best Buy locations are known for putting some devices out on shelves early giving a look at smartphones and other things we aren't supposed to see yet. The latest error comes from a Best Buy location in Springfield, Ohio. Someone at the store put three Google Pixel 3a XL smartphones into a cabinet early. The boxes show a smartphone design that looks just as we have seen in leaks in the past. Not much in the way of data on the smartphones can be gleaned from the... Read more...

Over the past weeks, we've seen a number of excellent deals on big screen TVs as we gear up for Super Bowl LIII, which will feature the Los Angeles Rams doing battle against the New England Patriots. The weeks leading up to the Super Bowl are perhaps your last best time to score a smoking deal on a TV until Black Friday and Cyber Monday to close out 2019. Best Buy is definitely getting into the gridiron spirit with a magnificent deal on the Hisense 55-inch 4K Roku TV (55R7E). The television has a regular MSRP of $499.99, but the retailer is currently selling it for a low $299.99. Delivery is free depending on your location (putting in my zip code in central North Carolina showed no... Read more...
If you’re looking to expand your footprint with regards to smart home integration, or are simply looking to get started from scratch, we’ve got an excellent deal for you today. The Echo Dot really needs no introduction, but the third-generation model launched back in late September with an all-new design. In a blow to gamers who like scoring brand-new game titles at better prices than the norm, Best Buy has decided to cancel its popular Gamers Club program. To many, Best Buy may not have seemed like the de facto place to pick up the hottest new console or PC game, but the company's Gamers Club made sticking with the company a no-brainer, or at least it used to. With the simple $30 annual membership, gamers could save 20% off of any new game, which means that the card would be quickly paid off after only a few purchases. Beyond that, the card enabled a 10% trade-in bonus, 10% off pre-owned games, double My Best Buy points, some special one-time use coupons, and "exclusive offers". It's not clear... Read more...
Best Buy and Amazon are fierce rivals in the electronics market, with the former having a big presence in the brick and mortar side of things, while the latter absolutely dominates the online sector. The two companies are now joining forces to sell new Fire TV Edition smart TVs in a rather interesting arrangement. The two companies inked a multi-year partnership that will see Best Buy as the exclusive retailer for Insignia- and Toshiba-branded Fire TV Edition smart TVs. These sets will be sold at both Best Buy's brick and mortar and online stores. In addition, the TVs will be sold via the Amazon Marketplace with Best Buy as the third-party seller. There will be nearly a dozen Fire TV Edition... Read more...
Apple first announced the Apple Watch at the tail end of the iPhone keynote last September, but didn’t get around to actually releasing the wearable (in extremely limited quantities) to customers until April of this year. Since its initial launch, Apple has slowly ramped production and orders to the point where the initial 6- to 8-week delivery window has shrunk to two days with free shipping or one day with expedited shipping. Now that supply issues are for the most part worked out, Apple is ready to take the next step: opening up sales to one of its largest U.S. retail partners. Best Buy announced late last night that beginning August 7th, it will sell the Apple Watch in over 100 of its brick... Read more...
The BlackBerry Passport is one odd device. On the one hand, its hardware is fitting for a 2014-era flagship with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor (3GB RAM), 32GB of internal storage, 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, a 13MP rear camera with OIS, and a massive 3450 mAh battery. On the other hand, the device has an odd 4.5” 1440x1440 square display and squared off edges which doesn’t exactly make it very ergonomic. While the Passport officially launched back in late September, it is just now arriving on AT&T’s network. And wouldn’t you know it, AT&T is already cutting corners… really. AT&T apparently didn’t take too kindly to the original design of the Passport and ask BlackBerry to go back... Read more...
