Did you attend E3 this past June? Your data may have been leaked. The data of over 2,000 journalists and content creators was at risk thanks to a website security breach. The Electronic Software Association (ESA) grants E3 press badges to thousands of journalists, content creators, and other industry experts each year. The ESA then compiles a list of attendee’s contact information and hands that out to companies. This data typically includes an attendee’s home or office address, phone number, and other relevant information. The companies will then invite attendees to various special events. The data is not meant to be shared with the public and is only intended to connect companies... Read more...

There have been video games based on the franchise before, but they were forgettable, and many likely don't know they ever existed. A new game is on the way called Blair Witch from Lionsgate Games and Bloober Team, and it looks incredibly creepy. The official E3 announcement for the game promised a first-person, story-driven, physiological horror game based on the cinematic lore of Blair Witch. The game is set in 1996, complete with old cell phones, and has the player searching for a young boy lost in the woods. Players take on the persona of a former... Read more...

The game is set to launch in July, and at E3 2019, Nintendo has been heavily talking up the game. A huge amount of information about the game has been offered at E3 with videos spanning over an hour. Seeing Keanu Reeves make an appearance at E3 to promote Cyberpunk 2077, an upcoming dystopian role playing game in which he is a part of, was a delightful surprise. Less surprising, but no less welcome, is that developer CD PROJEKT RED is working with NVIDIA to support real-time ray tracing on GeForce RTX hardware (and perhaps other cards as well—more on that in a moment). "Cyberpunk 2077 is an incredibly ambitious game, mixing first-person perspective and deep role-playing, while also creating an intricate and immersive world in which to tell its story," said Matt Wuebbling, head of GeForce marketing at NVIDIA. "We think the world of Cyberpunk will greatly benefit from the realistic lighting... Read more...
Google Stadia, Google’s upcoming gaming service, was officially announced last week. Although it is not a subscription-based service, it will offer several compelling features. Google Stadia will reportedly include publisher-specific subscriptions. Harrison hinted at the upcoming feature in an interview during YouTube’s E3 Live show. He remarked, “You’ll also see in due course, in relatively short order from now, you’ll see publishers starting to think about their own subscriptions. We support that on our platform, and we’ll... The company also teased a tie in with Terminator Dark Fate, a move that... Read more...
No reasonable person would expect the demon uprising to be all rainbows and glitter, but what you may not have anticipated is a level of gore that rivals—and perhaps surpasses—the notoriously violent Mortal Kombat franchise. Bethesda's upcoming Doom Eternal game does, however, as revealed in a new story trailer. "It’s time for you to once again fill the skull-crushing boots of the Doom Slayer and save humanity from utter destruction. Of course, there’s only one way to stop the chaos: rip and tear through every demon in your path, until it is done," Bethesda explains. As the Doom Slayer, you will face a relentless demon onslaught, and while the stakes are bigger than ever,... Read more...
Bethesda was at E3 2019, and during its showcase, it offered up a pair of trailers that show all the gaming goodness coming to Fallout 76 this year. Gamers have been very critical of Fallout 76 since it launched with many fans of the franchise seeing aspects of the game as nothing more than a money grab by Bethesda. Recently, Bethesda executive Todd Howard announced that he recognized the failures the game was making before it launched noting that some of the criticism of the game was "well deserved." During the Bethesda E3 2019 Showcase, the game publisher announced that a pair of new and game-changing updates were coming to Fallout 76. The best news for gamers who are still giving Fallout 76... The company's has been tossing out hints in various videos posted to social media, and the Internet community did not disappoint in piecing together the clues. Microsoft dropped hints in three videos in particular over the past few days. The first one contains "R 255" in the background, followed by references to "G 36" and B 0" in the second and third videos, respectively. Mash those together and you get RGB (255, 36, 0), which not coincidentally is the color code for scarlet. Here's a look at the first teaser...... Read more...

Google is on hand at E3 2019, and as promised, it is giving up all those important details we wanted to know about its Stadia game streaming service. Stadia faces serious competition in the game streaming market, and it may not be exactly what gamers were thinking it was going to be. If you were expecting the Netflix of games, that's not exactly what Stadia is, and it's not being labeled s a subscription service. Stadia will launch this November and will require the purchase of hardware, with the "Founder's Edition" selling for $130 including three months of premium service. The service will cost $10 per month after that (there will be a free tier coming in 2020). Stadia does intend to offer... Read more...
As far as Google is concerned, "the future of gaming is not a box, it's a place," that place being the cloud. Google is of course talking about Stadia, its upcoming cloud gaming platform that it hopes will revolutionize the industry and, though Google has not come right out and said it plainly, render dedicated game consoles obsolete. There is a lot of distance to cover before Stadia gets to that point (if it ever does), and it will depend in large part on what games are available, how they are distributed (will users own or simply rent them?), and what the actual gameplay will be like. Google is planning to answer some of those questions during its Stadia Connect event ahead of E3 in a couple... Read more...
