Are moviegoers trying of a seemingly relentless stream of comic book movies headed to theaters? If Deadpool’s release is any indication, the answer is an enthusiastic “Hell No!” Deadpool had a rather meager (at least compared to other superhero movies) $58 million budget and was originally projected to bring in $65 million to $70 million during Presidents Day weekend. However, the raucous movie absolutely obliterated studio and analyst expectations, tallying an astounding $135 million during the Friday to Sunday period (domestic box office).
