If you want to get your hands on the DROID RAZR but aren't sure you want to spend $300, Verizon Wireless has a new option for you. The wireless carrier is now offering the DROID RAZR, minus the previously included 16GB microSD card, for $100 less than the initial price offering. With this promotion, you'll get the same DROID RAZR smartphone that features 16GB of onboard memory, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 8MP camera, and Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread (the phone is upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich though the update isn't available yet). Of course, the phone still offers a microSD card slot, so you're always welcome to plug in your own card since one isn't included with the $200 price... Read more...
Although the Droid 4 hasn't been officially released yet, that hasn't stopped Best Buy from using this upcoming phone in a promotional advertisement. A recent Reward Zone promotion shows the upcoming phone, which makes us wonder if the retailer thought the phone was going to launch this month. (Old rumors once suggested this phone would launch in December, but that hasn’t happened.) The Droid 4 looks similar to the Droid RAZR with its shaved corners, but this phone also features a slide-out keyboard with backlit keys. No official release date has been announced, though the latest rumors suggest Verizon Wireless will launch the Droid 4 in February. Of course, we've heard multiple rumors... Read more...

As is typical in the world of electronics, however, this handset won't stay at the top for long. In fact, we're already experiencing gadget envy now that we're seeing more details about the upcoming successor to the Galaxy S II, appropriately called the Galaxy S III. This new smartphone is rumored to feature a 2.0GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 10 megapixel camera with full 1080p video capabilities,... Read more...
If you've been paying attention to Android smartphones lately, you know there's one device that people have been talking about and eagerly anticipating for a few months now. That phone is the Galaxy Nexus. The reason this phone is so hot is because it is the first smartphone in the US to run Android 4.0, better known perhaps as Ice Cream Sandwich. As the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich is designed to offer a single Android platform that will run on both smartphones and tablets. There's another key feature about the Galaxy Nexus: It doesn’t have a lot of customizations or UI tweaks from either Samsung (the phone's manufacturer) or Verizon Wireless (who has the exclusive rights... From the leaked press shot, it appears that the camera will protrude from the back of the device. Since the phone has yet to be formally announced, details are rather sparse at the moment. However, there... Read more...
The biggest proposed merger of this millennium is being postponed. AT&T and Deutsche Telekom advised Judge Huvelle this morning that they wish to stay any further Court proceedings until January 18, 2012, to allow the two companies time to evaluate all options.  The U.S. Department of Justice joined in the filing. Recently, the DoJ put up a fuss about the proposed merger, and it's becoming crystal clear that the two involved companies are now scrambling behind the scenes to get their ducks in a row. Here's a quote from AT&T about the move: "AT&T is committed to working with Deutsche Telekom to find a solution that is in the best interests of our respective customers, shareholders... Read more...

After clicking on the Learn More button, users are taken to a promotional page for Verizon Wireless that does not list the Galaxy Nexus. It’s hard to say if this price on the ad is a long-time deal or if it will be a special holiday promotion. The ad does appear to be legit however, since it’s appeared at various sites around the web. The ads are run by NetShelter, a premium advertising network... Read more...

A new service from Broadband.com could help you save some cash on your cell phone bill. The new mobile service known as Republic Wireless promises unlimited talk, text, and data for just $19 per month. Republic Wireless is able to offer this service because it operates primarily over Wi-Fi networks. Recognizing that a Wi-Fi network may not always be available, the company has an agreement with Sprint so you'll still be able to use your phone. Although there is no limit to how much you can use your phone over a Wi-Fi network, you will be limited to somewhere around 550 minutes, 150 texts, and 300 megabytes when connected to Sprint’s network. Should you cross that threshold, Republic Wireless... Read more...
