Players who are caught cheating in the extremely popular video game franchise Call of Duty could face much stiffer and broad consequences, which could include being banned from playing any of the future CoD releases. This is an attempt by Activision Blizzard to combat the enormous amount of players who find the need to not only cheat, but ruin the game experience for other players. Cheating in Call of Duty games is not new. In fact, during the Beta test of Call of Duty: Vanguard, it took cheaters little time to overrun it. Players of the popular game franchise have complained for years about how bad cheating has become and ruining the game, with little to no relief. Add into that fray the storm... Read more...
AMD is pushing out an updated Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition driver package (version 21.11.1), and if you're planning to play Forza Horizon 5 when it comes out next week, you'll want to grab this one. That is, if you're rocking a Radeon graphics card, of course. If so, this driver update brings with it some under-the-hood tuning to significantly improve performance in the racing sim. According to the release notes, the 21.11.1 driver package boosts performance by up to a whopping 23 percent when playing Forza Horizon 5 at a 4K resolution and with the Extreme Settings option. That performance claim is linked specifically to the Radeon RX 6800 XT, and is compared to the previously driver release... Read more...
Call of Duty: Vanguard has not even released to the public yet, and cheaters are already infesting the game. Several participants of the cross-platform multiplayer mode's open beta took to social media to post clips and complaints of players using obvious cheats to gain an unfair advantage, and ruin fun for players on the receiving end of such nonsense. Activision is in the midst of its third open beta. The first one was an early access beta that ran from September 10-13 for PlayStation players who preordered the game, followed by a second beta round that ran from September 16-17 for Xbox and PC (Battle.net) players, as well as PlayStation gamers. The current beta period, which began on September... Read more...
Maybe now Activision's legal team can take a chill pill and stop sending out DMCA take down notices for leaks pertaining to Call of Duty: Vanguard. There is no reason to protect the artwork anymore, because on the heels of releasing a Vanguard teaser trailer earlier this week, Activision has followed that up with an official announcement and a nearly three-minute reveal trailer. As was rumored to be the case, Call of Duty: Vanguard once again returns players to a World War II setting (well, a post WWII setting), this time to "witness the origins of Special Forces as you play a pivotal role and change the face of history." Though the WWII setting is a familiar one in the CoD franchise, lead developer... Read more...
For as hard as Activision has been trying to stifle leaked information about Call of Duty: Vanguard through a series of Digital Millennium Copyright Act take down notices, it is proving to be an impossible task. Even the publisher's own partners can't keep a secret, apparently. Earlier this morning, Sony leaked when the Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal is scheduled to take place. Sony's inadvertent tip comes on the heels of several tweets and forum posts being removed, that had depicted artwork and imagery from the upcoming game. Activision is trying really hard to keep everything under wraps, but if Sony's tip is any indication, the publisher can finally dial back its efforts in the coming days.... Read more...
Activision and its legal team are apparently scrambling to remove key artwork from the web depicting Call of Duty: Vanguard, the unofficial name of the next CoD installment. It might as well be official, though, because the leaked artwork and where it came from leave little doubt that Activision has settled on a name (same goes for past leaks and rumors). As the story goes, Call of Duty: Vanguard will bring the action back to a World War 2 setting. What appears to be box art for the game were discovered in game files associated with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War after the Season 5 update dropped. If that is the case, then the imagery comes directly from Activision, and is as close to a confirmation... Read more...
