Huawei MateBook D Review: Sleek, Attractive AMD Ryzen Powered Ultrabook
Huawei MateBook D: Gaming and Graphics Testing
Futuremark’s well-known 3DMark benchmark suite features tests that target different types of computing devices. We opted for the Cloud Gate and Sky Diver tests, for which we have plenty of comparison data, but also as light-duty 3D graphics and gaming benchmarks that are well-suited to thin and light laptops. Sky Diver is a bit more strenuous, but still well within the limits of our test group.
One area AMD has a leg up on Intel is their IGP performance. Acquiring ATI all those years back paid off for AMD. While we won't call the Radeon Vega 8 a powerhouse, it easily outperforms Intel's UHD 620 IGP in this form factor and is actually closer to the discrete Nvidia MX 150. The difference here is Vega 8 is integrated into the Ryzen 2500U processor while the MX 150 is an add-on chip. The performance comparison is actually impressive considering the MX 150 is a mobile version of the desktop GeForce GT 1030.
