Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD: Sunspider & PCMark 8

SunSpider
Real World JavaScript Performance
The SunSpider website offers the following about their test:

This is SunSpider, a JavaScript benchmark. This benchmark tests the core JavaScript language only, not the DOM or other browser APIs. It is designed to compare different versions of the same browser, and different browsers to each other. Unlike many widely available JavaScript benchmarks, this test is "real world, balanced and statistically sound."

The Gigabyte BRIX Gaming UHD performs about as expected here. It doesn't lead the pack, but it well within acceptable margins considering its mobile-oriented Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor. All this boils down to is that we can expect it to handle any browser rendering tasks without a hiccup.

PCMark 8
Productivity Quantified

What makes PCMark 8 different from other benchmarks? Real-world relevance. With PCMark 8 you measure and compare PC performance using real-world tasks and applications. We've grouped these applications into scenarios that reflect typical PC use in the home and at the office. This approach ensures that PCMark measures the things that matter, highlighting performance differences that will be apparent to end users and consumers.

PC Mark 8 includes several benchmark scenarios which leverage different workloads to better help you gauge which computer might meet your needs. For our purposes, we step through the Accelerated Home and Accelerated Work benchmarks...

Again, we find the BRIX Gaming UHD turning in a respectable, though not groundbreaking, score. Almost all modern processors deliver performance well in excess of what we need for basic productivity tasks such as document creation or even photo editing, and the i7-6700HQ is no exception. As an aside, we skipped over the Storage benchmark here. As a barebones kit, performance will vary based on drive selection.

Now, let's stretch its legs a bit with some more intensive benchmarks...
