AVA Direct Custom GT3 SFF Gaming System Review

Cinebench Rendering and LAME MP3 Recording

Cinebench R10 is an OpenGL 3D rendering performance test based on Cinema 4D from Maxon. Cinema 4D is a 3D rendering and animation tool suite used by 3D animation houses and producers like Sony Animation and many others.  It's very demanding of system processor resources and is an excellent gauge of pure computational throughput.

Cinebench R10
3D Rendering

This is a multi-threaded, multi-processor aware benchmark that renders a single 3D scene and tracks the length of the entire process. The rate at which each test system could render the entire scene is represented in the graph below.

Considering its processor speed and memory configuration, the GT3 performs as expected in Cinebench---outpacing the Dell 630, but trailing the other systems.

LAME MT
Audio Encoding

LAME MT is an open-source MP3 encoder and does medium bitrate, high bitrate and variable bitrate encoding. We test systems with it in both single- and multi-threaded modes with our custom, 223MB WAV file. Processing times are in seconds. Here, shorter times equate to better performance.

In both instances, the AVA Direct GT3 did well. So far, however, the AVA Direct Custom GT3 has been a fairly strong system, especially for its compact size.
