After a quick search of Newegg’s site, we’ve found that Intel’s trio of initial Core i7 processors and an array of X58 Express chipset-based motherboards have been made available, just shy of two weeks since our launch article hit the web. The Core i7 920 (2.66GHz), 940 (2.93GHz) and Core i7 Extreme 965 (3.2GHz) are all selling for a small premium at the moment--$319, $599, and 1069, respectively—but the X58 motherboards are priced right in line with expectations. MSI’s offering is the least expensive at the moment at about $220, and ASUS’ flagship Rampage II Extreme is currently the most expensive at almost $400. At the same time, Microsoft has released SP1 for Visio 2007 and Project 2007.The Office 2007 SP1 link, which was dead until just a few minutes ago, is now live, and is here. The CTO of Mozilla and the platform architect for Microsoft's Internet Explorer are engaging in a little war of words over the format for the next version of the Javascript language. Microsoft's Chris Wilson wants to see an entirely new language supersede the existing version; Mozilla CTO  Brendan Eich wants to supercharge the existing version. Earlier today we reported on the hardware unlocking of the iPhone.  But that's ALREADY so over, as the group that operates iPhoneSIMfree.com has created a way to do it in software - and they say it will resists upgrades and restores. The group has not published the details of their unlocking procedure because they plan to sell the service beginning next week.  The event comes almost two full months after the iPhone's widely-publicized release by Apple and AT&T.
