AMD Radeon Pro W7700 Review: Hitting The Sub-$1000, Pro-Vis Sweet Spot
Power Consumption Testing

Temperatures and noise are also non-issues with the AMD Radeon Pro W7700. As you can see in the hardware data captured during a VRMark run, the GPU temperature peaks just above the 70°C mark and framerates, the GPU frequency, and performance remain consistent throughout the run.
With its relatively low GPU temps, the fan speed on the Radeon Pro W7700 remains low as well, which keeps the card fairly quiet. During normal operation, the AMD Radeon Pro W7700 is mild mannered and shouldn't pose an issue in terms of thermals or acoustics in any properly configured system with adequate cooling. (Note: We tested inside a mid-tower chassis).
AMD AMD Radeon Pro W7700: The Verdict
We thought AMD did a great job with the high-end AMD Radeon Pro W7900 and W7800, in our opinion. The cards offer excellent overall performance, with increased power efficiency, moderate thermals and acoustics, and they offered class-leading display output options, that were ready for next-gen displays. The Radeon Pro W7700 does all of those same things, but targets a much more palatable $999 price-point. Considering the current street price of the Radeon Pro W6800 is still hovering around $1,500 and the NVIDA RTX A6000 (Ampere generation) is thousands more, AMD has priced the Radeon Pro W7700 very aggressively.Ultimately, as was the case with its higher-end counterparts, the AMD Radeon Pro W7700 offers excellent performance in its class, along with leading-edge features, and competitive pricing. Its performance isn't a clean sweep across the board, especially when ray tracing is factored into the mix, but the AMD Radeon Pro W7700 is still a well-rounded product that should serve prospective workstation customers very well. Due to its relatively strong performance, improved efficiency, and manageable form factor with tame power consumption and acoustics, we can easily recommended the Radeon Pro W7700 to anyone shopping for a current-gen professional workstation GPU.
