Most of Microsoft's latest generation Surface products are either available to order, or available to preorder (and shipping soon). We are talking about the recently announced Surface Go 2 flaunting its bigger size display (10.5 inches), the Surface Book 3 with respectable gaming chops, and various accessories. Microsoft Surface Go 2 Is Available Now Starting At $399.99 The Surface Go 2 is an intriguing 2-in-1 device. Compared to the previous generation model, the display on the new version is half an inch bigger. Microsoft today pulled the wraps off the Surface Go 2 and the Surface Book 3; and it looks as though the leaks were right on the money with these two new computing products. As expected, both bring newer Intel processors to the table, and in the case of the Surface Book 3, optional NVIDIA Turing-based discrete GPUs. Starting off with Microsoft's entry-level PC, the Surface Go 2 is getting a bump in screen size from 10 inches to 10.5 inches. It's a small increase that also comes with a boost in resolution to 1920x1080 while maintaining Microsoft's reliance on a 3:2 aspect ratio for its Surface devices. The increased screen dimensions mean that the bezels have been reduced ever so... Read more...
The release of Microsoft's Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3 is imminent, as regulatory agencies have been dripping information on the upcoming Windows 10 devices. The latest leaks are coming courtesy of Energy Star certification for both devices. In the case of the Surface Go 2, the convertible is confirmed to come equipped with an Intel Core m3-8100Y processor, which should allow it to continue on with a fanless design. This particular model is also equipped with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. This appears to the top-end configuration, as we've seen previous leaks point to an entry-level Pentium Gold 4425Y equipped model paired with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. A previous leak from... Rumors have been swirling for a while now that Microsoft is planning to introduce a Surface Book 3, and the latest chatter pegs the unveiling for a Spring hardware event in New York City. It would not be a surprise if that ended up happening. What would be somewhat of a surprise, however, is if the Surface Book 3 came armed with an 11th generation Tiger Lake-U processor, as a fresh 3DMark leak seems to suggest. The prevailing assumption is that Microsoft would tap its 10th gen Ice Lake stack for the Surface Book 3. Back in January, a similar leak highlighted various possible configurations, including one that paired an Ice Lake-based 10th generation Core i7-1065G7 processor (4 cores, 8 threads)... Read more...
Back in October of last year, Microsoft tested the water with AMD's Ryzen hardware by offering the 15-inch model of its Surface Laptop 3 with either a Ryzen 7 3780U or Ryzen 5 3580U. Will we see more Surface devices incorporate AMD hardware inside?  A newly leaked benchmark suggests we will, with what could be a Surface Book 3 rocking a Ryzen 5 4500U and Radeon RX 5300M. Certainly we are going to see more AMD-powered laptops in general. AMD recently launched its mobile Ryzen 4000 series based on its Zen 2 CPU architecture, and models based around its newest hardware are starting to trickle into view. It's going to be interesting to see how they fare against against upcoming laptops built... Read more...
Earlier this month, we heard rumors that Microsoft is preparing to launch its third-generation Surface Book 3, which has been a long time coming. That earlier report suggests that the machine could be powered by 10th generation Intel Ice Lake processors and a GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU. A new report from Petri, however, is shedding some more light on the Surface Book 3, including the fact that Microsoft will hold a spring Surface hardware event in New York City to announce the hardware. In addition to the previously leaked information on the Turing-based GeForce GTX GPUs, Petri indicates that the top-spec 15-inch configuration will be configurable with NVIDIA Quadro graphics....
