It is not often that end users have the ability to offer feedback and direction to a large manufacturer regarding future product development, but that's exactly what's going on over at the WePC project website. If you're unfamiliar with the WePC project, it's a joint venture between Asus and Intel in which both companies are looking for input from members of the technology press and blogging world, and readers. This quote from the WePC site does a great job of summarizing the projects goal..."Imagine your perfect PC. Now imagine top engineers and innovators working around the clock to make that Dream PC a reality. That's the dream WePC.com is all about.ASUS and Intel have created WePC.com, a... Read more...
We're starting up a new featured section here at HotHardware, dubbed OEM Access. As its name suggests, we're looking to enable direct conversations with Original Equipment Manufacturers, offering our readers the ability to better connect with them to ask questions, voice concerns, or to just comment on a particular product or technology. To launch the section and follow up on our original Intel Core i7 975 Extreme Edition coverage, we've enlisted the help of Intel and have a blog post available featuring a discussion regarding Intel's latest flagship desktop CPU, Computex, Westmere and a few more upcoming products. Come on by and check it out and feel free to ask questions to get into the conversation... Read more...

As the holiday season rapidly approaches, there’s one question that you’ll hear very frequently: Have you been naughty or nice? Of course, we all know that a lot hinges on this seemingly simple question. If you’ve been nice, then perhaps Santa will bring you an awesome gift, that one piece of hardware you've been jonesing for, like Intel’s new Core i7 965 Extreme processor or perhaps Dell’s UltraSharp 30-inch widescreen LCD. On the other hand, if you’ve been naughty and have cursed your computer (hey, who hasn’t?) or ignored your significant other because Call of Duty 4 of Bioshock beckoned, then you’d better shape up before it's too late. Otherwise, the only thing you’ll have to look forward... Read more...

Synopsis:   Lenovo's IdeaPad S10 is a 10" Netbook that sports low power consumption, ultra-portability, respectable performance and a well rounded feature set. It's built on Intel's new low-power Atom processor. Taking on such challengers as Asus' Eee PC and the MSI Wind, Lenovo offers this svelte machine for a modest $399 entry price point.  While the S10's keyboard is a little cramped for a 10" netbook, we liked the machine's, build quality, fit and finish, and super-crisp LCD.Gallery:       Click for full view... Synopsis:  With an Intel Core 2 Duo low power dual-core processor under its hood, this machine is capable in many mainstream user applications and could make for a decent Home Theater PC.  Aficionados may scoff at the system's integrated Intel X3100 graphics, which does not provide full offload processing for HD video.  However, the Studio Hybrid has more than enough power to playback full 1080p resolution content with its Core 2 Duo dual core processor, standard 160GB hard drive and DDR2-667 system memory.  As a minimalistic business-class machine, family computer or college-bound bookshelf computer, the Studio Hybrid has all the basic features...
