We’re getting some real concrete details on the hardware specifications for the smartphone family, which will include the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+. Galaxy S10e This latest leak comes courtesy of GSM Arena, which alleges that it obtained specs sheets for all three smartphones, including information on screen sizes, display resolutions, available RAM and color options. With regards to the Galaxy S10e, the device is said to feature a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a FHD+ resolution (2280x1080). The fingerprint reader... Read more...
It's a near certainty that the alleged Galaxy F folding smartphone will debut in production form alongside the Galaxy S10 family in just over a week. Samsung will hold an Unpacked event in San Francisco during which the company will showcase that latest that it has to offer in the mobile segment. Samsung once again teased the Galaxy F this morning in a video posted to Twitter. The global #1 smartphone manufacturer highlights the tagline “The Future Unfolds” during the video along with animations that clearly reference the folding display. Although there isn’t much else to go on from the short 15-second teaser, Samsung confirms that the device will... Read more...
Samsung may be gearing up to include a set of wireless earphones with its upcoming Galaxy S10 smartphone lineup. If that is indeed the case, it would add a value proposition to Samsung's premium phone family, and perhaps nudge potential buyers who are on the fence about spending upwards of a grand on a smartphone. We do not know how pricing will shake out for any of the Galaxy S10 models, though assuming Samsung sticks with its most recent script, you can expect MSRPs to be in the range of around $700 to over $900. According to one recent leak, the top-of-the-line Galaxy S10 Plus with 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage will go for €1,599 (~$1,800 in US currency). Whatever the prices end up being,... Read more...
There's not much left to the imagination when it comes to Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10 family. Today, the veil is being lifted even higher as we get our first glimpse at the UI confirming the existence of the in-display fingerprint reader. An in-display fingerprint reader has been rumored for Samsung's flagships prior to the launch of the Galaxy S8, but it's finally here with the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+. In the images accompanying this article, we can see some nice real-life shot of the Galaxy S10+, which is identifiable because of its dual selfie cameras. You can see the fingerprint graphic towards the bottom of the smartphone between the on-screen call and camera buttons. This... Read more...
With the official Galaxy S10 launch just two weeks ago, the leaks have picked up in pace. Over the past week, we've seen some very clear official renders of Samsung’s entire Galaxy S10 family: the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+. Now, we're getting a real-life look at the entry-level Galaxy S10e. Samsung Galaxy S10e on the right The images show the smartphone with a flat Infinity-O display, unlike the curved panel that we've seen with the larger Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+. We can also see relatively thick bezels all around the Super AMOLED display. The bezels remind us more of the iPhone XR, which itself has thicker bezels than its pricier iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max siblings.... Read more...
In a little over two weeks from now, Samsung will unveil its Galaxy S10 product family, and if the rumors and leaks up to this point turn out to be true, there will be at least three variants—Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10 Plus. How fast will the Galaxy 10 be? A newly leaked benchmark run on Geekbench may give us a hint. As always, we have to take these things with a grain of salt—it's not that difficult to fake the specs in a Geekbench listing. That said, given how close we are to Samsung's official launch, it's not surprising to see more benchmark scores leak out. In this case, the model name in the listing is "Samsung SM-G975F," which is believed to be the Galaxy S10... Read more...
Samsung's Galaxy S10 launch is a little less than three weeks away, and the leaks have been coming in at a furious pace. Last week, we were presented with various leaked official images of the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+, and now we're getting some confirmation of some of the features destined for the smartphone family. The folks over at XDA-Developers have discovered via FCC filings that the new Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ will have support for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax). Wi-Fi 6 is the successor to 802.11ac (now officially called Wi-Fi 5) and should provide transfer rates of around 1.1Gbps on the 2.4GHz band and up to 4.8Gbps on the 5GHz band -- theoretically of... It seems like hardly a days go by without another Galaxy S10 leak, and today is no exception. Now whether these are actual leaks or strategic (and controlled) ones by Samsung, we have no idea. However, one thing is becoming clear, and that is what the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ both look like, based on the latest round of press renders. Samsung is planning to formally (and finally) introduces its Galaxy S10 family during its Unpacked event on February 20, along with a folding smartphone (beating Huawei to the punch by just a few days). As that date draws closer, we're seeing more and more leaked press renders, and the latest batch certainly looks legitimate. We can see the rumored punch-hole... Read more...
Rumors have been flying fast about the Samsung Galaxy S10 line of smartphones. Not too long ago some images of the S10 family leaked that showed the smartphones inside clear protective cases. Not long after, more photos of the smartphones leaked along with alleged specifications for the devices. Rumors also suggest that the smartphones are now in mass production. Today some renders have leaked of the S10+, which claim to come directly from Samsung. The alleged official renderings show a smartphone that looks exactly like the other leaked images we have seen. As for where the leaked renderings came from, 91mobiles claims they are from a "reliable source." The photos show a punched hole camera... Read more...
Many smartphone enthusiasts are waiting in anticipation for the launch of Samsung's new Galaxy S10 smartphone family. The S10 smartphones will launch at a Samsung Unpacked event on February 20. Now sources close to the company claim that mass production of the S10 started simultaneously around the globe on January 25. The source also claimed that the Galaxy S10 models currently in production would run on 4G networks, not 5G networks as some had hoped. The source claims that the S10 running on 5G networks is in the works and will be produced later in the first half of the year. The S10 will have multiple cameras and all will have in-display fingerprint reader technology. They won't all have... Read more...
Samsung on Wednesday announced it has begun mass producing the industry's first 1-terabyte capacity embedded Universal Flash Storage (eUFS) 2.1 for use in next-generation mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Could this be a hint of what to expect from Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10 smartphone? It is certainly a possibility, though we will not know for sure until Samsung's Unpacked event on February 20, during which it is expected to formally introduce the Galaxy S10 family, along with a folding phone of some sort. For what it's worth, though, the Galaxy S10 Plus is rumored to ship with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. Either way, it's a big deal that Samsung... Read more...
Maybe one day we won't have to worry about charging our mobile phones—they'll just simply always turn on and work, with batteries that never run out of juice. Until that day arrives, charging is still an everyday occurrence for most of us. That includes a growing number of supplementary gadgets, like wireless earbuds, which you might be able to plop on top of your Galaxy S10 to charge them up. The Galaxy S10 has not yet been announced, of course, so we are relying on leaks, rumors, and speculation. There are plenty of all three to go around, especially now that the Galaxy S10 is just a few weeks away from being officially unveiled. One of the newest features to leak out is reverse wireless... When it comes to Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10 family of smartphones, we've hit the jackpot today. In two separate leaks, we're getting looks at both the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+ from multiple angles. The first leak comes courtesy of the German blog AllAboutSamsung, which has posted the best images yet of the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+. From the front we can see minimal bezels all around along with a punch hole cutout for the front-facing cameras on the Galaxy S10; the Galaxy S10+ uses a double punch hole cutout since it has two selfie cameras.  Moving around to the back of the phones, you can see a horizontal pod that houses three cameras and an LED lash.... Samsung today officially announced its latest ISOCELL camera sensor, which was specifically designed with "punch hole" displays in mind, or in Samsung parlance, Infinity-O. The problem with the tiny holes cut into the display to make room for a front-facing camera is the accompanying image sensor also has to fit within this cutout. Enter the ISOCELL Slim 3T2, which Samsung says is the industry's smallest image sensor, measuring just 1/3.4 inches (5.1 millimeters) diagonally. Samsung's new 20MP sensor features pixels that are 0.8 microns in size and uses pixel-binning, which it calls Tetracell, to combine four pixels to function as one. With this in mind, Samsung says that its new ISOCELL Slim... Read more...
We have talked about plenty of rumors that focus on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone family. The last rumor came only a few days ago when a leak exposed the triple rear camera array and punch hole displays. The fact that the S10 family will use an in-display fingerprint reader was confirmed via the Samsung Pay app. Now, a new Galaxy S10 rumor is making the rounds, and this one is specifically about pricing. An Italian website called TuttoAndroid has ferreted out a new leak about the top-of-the-line Galaxy S10 Plus version with 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage that claims that device will sell for €1,599, which is $1,817 when converted to U.S. currency. That would make... Read more...
It is very likely that Samsung engages in controlled leaks of upcoming products, a strategy that has worked well for Apple over the years. Some intentional leaks are more blatant than others. For example, the South Korean electronics maker has updated its Samsung Pay app with references to an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is a rumored feature of the Galaxy S10. Well, it was a rumored feature, up until now. Samsung has essentially confirmed that the Galaxy S10 will in fact boast an in-display fingerprint sensor. The references in the updated Samsung Pay app are not a coincidence, and in one of the instances, it even specifically mentions the Galaxy S10. So yeah, it's going to have one.... Read more...
Samsung is set to officially unveil its Galaxy 10 family of smartphones on February 20th, but that isn't stopping the leaks from dripping out of the company's faucet. In the latest leak to hit the internet, we are getting a glimpse at three members of the Galaxy S10 family from the front and the back. The images come courtesy of none other than Evan Blass, and they show the alleged Galaxy S10E, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus. All three phones appear to be enclosed in a hard, clear plastic case and there is no sign of a rear-mounted fingerprint reader on any of the devices. That leads us to [reasonably] infer that Samsung will be using an in-display fingerprint reader for the... Read more...
In the coming weeks and months, smartphones wielding Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 855 processor will start to hit store shelves, and we'll start to get a better idea of the chip's performance. In the meantime, a new benchmark entry on Geekbench purportedly showing scores for Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10+ give us a glimpse of what to expect. Samsung has not yet formally introduced the Galaxy S10+, though is expected to during its Unpacked event on February 20. According to various leaks and rumors, it will be one of at least three Galaxy S10 phones. On Geekbench, the Galaxy S10+ is listed with the model number SM-G975U. While it doesn't specifically say "Galaxy S10+," the same model number... Read more...
We have been talking about Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10 for about a full year now, and at long last, a launch is only about a month away—Samsung is expected to debut the handset during its Unpacked event on February 20. As we get closer to that date, we thought it would be a good idea to recap the various leaks and rumors to this point. So, let's get started. Assuming the leaks and rumors have been accurate, there will be at least three versions of the Galaxy S10. They will include the 5.8-inch Galaxy S10 Lite (or Galaxy S10 E), 6.1-inch Galaxy S10, and 6.4-inch Galaxy S10+, each available in black, white, blue, and green. The Galaxy S10 Lite will also offer a yellow color option. The... Read more...
We now have an official reveal date for the upcoming Galaxy S10 family of smartphones: February 20th. That date is roughly a month and a half away, which is plenty of time for channel leaks to start filtering out before for the big event. In an invitation sent out to the press, a vertically-oriented "10" is displayed, which leaves no doubt about what will be announced. The 10 also refers to the fact that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S family. The event itself will take place at the Billy Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco at 11am, but will be live streamed for those that can't be in attendance.  There will be multiple variants of the Galaxy S10, starting... The likely debut of the Samsung Galaxy S10 is probably roughly two months away, which means that the number of leaks is starting to ramp up. With this in mind, one of the best leakers in the business is giving us an early look at one of the upcoming Galaxy S10 variants that will be released in 2019. This leak comes from Evan Blass, of course, who claims that the image portrays the device codenamed Beyond 1. This particular Galaxy S10 device, which is a step up from the entry-level Galaxy S10 Lite (Beyond 0), is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch display and dual rear cameras. It is also expected to have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embedded in the display instead of the traditional rear placement... Read more...
Both Verizon Wireless and AT&T have officially activated their first 5G networks, which means that we'll soon be seeing first-generation 5G smartphones marketed to customers. Among the first will be a pair of smartphones from Samsung, which will operate on Verizon's 5G network. Verizon and Samsung announced their partnership earlier this month and said that the first 5G devices would arrive during the first half of 2018. “5G will usher in a new era of mobile connectivity, allowing people to connect to data, experiences and other people in ways never thought possible,” said Brian Higgins, Verizon VP for wireless device and product marketing, at the time....
