What is all that noise and hullabaloo? It sounds like Amazon introducing the all-new Echo Buds that are smaller, lighter, and produce better sound for just $119. Announced today, the new Echo Buds have a wealth of new technologies which make them better than before. The big selling point of the new Echo Buds is that they are 20% smaller, lightweight, and IPX4 rated, meaning they can withstand splashes, sweat, and light rain. This means they can go nearly wherever you go and should be comfortable and hopefully imperceptible throughout the day. The earbuds also come with four ear tip sizes and two wingtip sizes, so you can customize them for your best fit and seal for audio quality. Making sure... Read more...
As we close out the year 2020, discounts are starting to pile up on Amazon-branded hardware for those that want to expand their "smart home" using their new acquired Christmas cash. The discounts abound on a wide variety of hardware from Echo smart speakers, to Fire TV Edition televisions to wireless ear buds, so sit back and take a look at what Amazon has to offer. Echo Smart Speakers Amazon recently redesigned its most popular speaker: the Echo Dot. The fourth-generation model now has an all-new spherical shape, which is a drastic departure from the previous hockey puck designs. Despite the new design, not much has changed with respect to features or sound quality (for better or worse). The... Read more...
Anker is a well-known accessory maker that is a huge seller on Amazon. The company sells all types of products from USB-C cables, to portable batteries, to wireless headphones, to robotic vacuums, and everything in between. However, there is a new, unreleased offering from Anker that is on the way which is giving us some insight into a product from Amazon. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has listed a new Anker wireless charging pad on its website. This by itself isn't all that interesting, since Anker makes tons of wireless charging pads the support Android and iOS smartphones along with other Qi-enabled accessories. However, the name of the product is the intriguing part: Anker... Read more...
If you own a pair of Amazon's Echo Buds wireless earbuds, we suggest that you update the firmware on your devices right away. If you don't, you're putting your safety at risk. Amazon sent out an email to Echo Buds owners this morning warning that under certain conditions, they can overheat when left in their charging case. This obviously presents a safety hazard, and Amazon described the situation, writing: The safety of our customers is our top priority. We recently determined that in very rare cases it is possible for Echo Buds to overheat while in the charging case. Out of an abundance of caution, we have released a software update that addresses this potential safety risk and improves... Read more...

They were rumored earlier this week, but now we have confirmation of the Echo Buds from Amazon. These are the company's wireless earbuds in the same vein as the Apple AirPods and the Samsung Galaxy Buds, however, they incorporate noise-canceling technology (something that we can't say for the AirPods) thanks to Bose Active Noise Reduction technology. Amazon says that the Echo Buds promise true, hands-free access to Alexa while at the same time delivering premium sound. Each earbud is equipped with dual "balanced" armature drivers to "deliver crisp, clear vocals, and dynamic bass". For those that want to let some ambient noise in to stay more attuned to your surroundings (i.e. running in... Read more...
