It has barely been a week since Apple introduced its latest generation smartwatch, the Apple Watch Series 6, and you can already grab one at a discounted price. Several versions are marked down over on Amazon, including both the 40mm and 44mm variants in different color options, such as Space Gray and Product(RED) as shown above, and a couple of Apple Watch SE models. If you are already rocking an Apple Watch Series 5, you might not be tempted to upgrade just yet. As expected, Apple has announced the new Apple Watch Series 6, which continues the company's yearly cadence of iterative updates. In this case, the Series is a slight upgrade over its Series 5 predecessor with a new S6 SoC, which is now based on the A13 Bionic found in the iPhone 11 family. Apple says that the new S6 processor in the Series 6 is now 20 percent faster than the S5 found in the Series 5. But perhaps the biggest new feature, is the addition of blood oxygen monitoring. Apple’s upcoming fall keynote will no doubt be headlined by the iPhone 12 family of smartphones, which have been highly anticipated by consumers. Health has always been a focus of the Apple Watch and other wearables, and at minimum you can typically expect there to be a built-in heart rate monitor on today's smartwatches and fitness bands. FitBit went the extra mile, though, and rolled out a software update that added blood oxygen tracking on some of its devices. Now it looks like Apple is working on the same thing.
