We are fast approaching the next round of iPhones, as Apple typically announces new devices in September, followed by availability in October. That means the rumors, leaks, and speculation are heating up. Leading up to the launch event, at least one analyst believes Apple will announce an upgraded iPhone X model with 512GB of onboard storage, and Apple Pencil support. Neither of those bits would be a surprise. Samsung, after, just recently announced its Galaxy Note 9 with a 512GB SKU, which users can double to 1TB if plopping in a capacious memory card into the phone's microSD card slot. The company... As has been widely expected, Apple today announced an upgrade to its 9.7-inch iPad. The device has refreshed hardware and is now powered by the Apple A10 Fusion processor (which is an upgrade from the previous generation’s Apple A9). That A10 Fusion processor debuted on the iPhone 7 family in 2016 and should provide a nice speed boost across the board. The other big change is that this will be the first consumer-centric iPad with support for the Apple Pencil, which is a $99 optional accessory. Apple Pencil support means that users will be able to write and draw on the display with pressure... Read more...
Apple has an event set to take place this week at Lane Technical College Prep High School in Chicago, and the company is tipped to unveil a new lower-cost iPad. This iPad is said to have been developed specifically for the education market, which is known to be very price sensitive. A new rumor about the education iPad has been floating around that hails from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to an investor note that Kuo penned, the new iPad may support the Apple Pencil. Apple is often accused of "adopting" features that have been found on Android devices for years, and making a big deal out of them when finally integrated into its own devices. Qualcomm was nice enough to give us a pretty nice rundown of tech that was first pioneered on Android devices ahead of the official unveil of the iPhone X. Now, a feature that has been included with the Samsung Galaxy Note series since its introduction in 2011 could be making its way to future iPhones: stylus support. A new report from The Investor says that Apple is working on a way to integrate Apple Pencil support that... Read more...
When Apple first announced the long-rumored iPad Pro in early September, it indicated that the tablet would begin shipping to customers in November. Now, according to a new report, that launch date has been penciled in for November 11th, Veterans Day. The tablet will be available both online and in retail stores (and likely through retail partners like Best Buy). The iPad Pro is the newest, largest and most expensive member of the iPad family. While the smallest iPad, the iPad mini, features a 7.9-inch display and starts at $269, the iPad Pro comes with a massive 12.9-inch display and starts at... Read more...
Apple kicked off its major 2015 iOS hardware push today with the announcement of the long-rumored iPad Pro. The device features a massive 12.9-inch display, which is quite a step up from the 7.9-inch iPad mini and 9.7-inch iPad Air 2. This Retina-class display packs in 5.6 million pixels, which is more than what’s found in the Retina MacBook Pro. Under the hood is Apple’s third generation 64-bit processor, the A9X. The A9X offers 2x the memory bandwidth and 1.8x the performance of the A8X found in the iPad Air 2 along with 2x faster storage performance. But that’s not all, Apple is also boasting... Read more...
