Next, we'll take a look at how the latest Moto DROIDs compare to other smartphones by examining a few benchmarks that are currently available online or in the Android Marketplace.

First, let’s take a look at the JetStream JavaScript benchmark, which has recently replaced SunSpider in our suite of browsing tests. According to the JetStream website:

Given that SunSpider was recently decommissioned, it'll take some time to build up a database of devices tested with JetStream. Furthermore, JetStream puts mobile browsers through a fairly intense gauntlet of tests, and many browsers -- including Safari and Chrome on iOS -- fail to complete it. We'll update our scores as browsers are updated with the capabilities necessary to handle all that JetStream requires.

The two Moto phones landed right about where we expected, with the Droid Turbo 2 offering performance that rivals some of the best phones we’ve tested. The Maxx 2 understandably takes a spot in the middle of the pack. If you’re also considering the Moto X Pure Edition, it’s worth noting that the phone falls between the two, offering better performance than the Maxx 2, but trailing the Turbo 2 quite a bit, thanks to the Turb 2's Snapdragon 810 processor.
