Microsoft Lumia 950 XL Review: The Windows 10 Mobile Flagship

Next, we'll take a look at how the Microsoft Lumia 950 compare to other smartphones by examining a few benchmarks that are currently available online or in the Windows 10 Mobile Marketplace.

First, let’s take a look at the JetStream JavaScript benchmark, which has recently replaced SunSpider in our suite of browsing tests (though we include SunSpider here too, for reference). According to the JetStream website:

JetStream is a JavaScript benchmark suite focused on the most advanced web applications. Bigger scores are better.
JavaScript testing
JavaScript Android and iPhone testing

jetstream

The Lumia 950 XL performed relatively well in the JetStream benchmark, falling in between the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and its little brother the Lumia 950. That's a decent number in light of the competition, save for the iPhone which rips through this benchmark like a hot knife through butter.

browsermark

Things didn't go quite as well in the BrowserMark benchmark, though. In this test, the Lumia 950 XL performs a bit better than the Galaxy S6 and previous-gen Moto X, which is decent. Smartphones with better optimized mobile browsers and faster SoCs, however, are capable of much higher scores.

Even before being exposed to the Commodore P.E.T. and later the Commodore 64 in the early ‘80s, he was interested in electricity and electronics, and he still has the modded AFX cars and shop-worn soldering irons to prove it. Once he got his hands on his own Commodore 64, however, computing became Marco's passion.
