Lenovo Yoga C930 Laptop Review: Dolby Vision And Atmos Deliver

Lenovo Yoga C930: A Refined 2-in-1, Enhanced With Dolby Vision And Atmos

There was a time when choosing a thin and light 2-in-1 laptop meant making compromises and deciding which features you could live without. That isn’t much of a problem nowadays, as there are excellent premium notebook offerings from all the major OEMs, including Dell, HP, Microsoft, Acer, and Lenovo. Lenovo, however, always sought to innovate ahead of the curve with its Yoga 2-in-1 form factor and continues to do so today with the beautiful new Yoga C930 we'll be showing you here.

It takes a lot to stand out in the crowded segment of premium, high-quality 2-in-1 notebooks, however. Lenovo’s latest iteration does so by going beyond the usual yearly hardware updates and sprinkles a suite of Dolby magic on top with impressive results. Check out our quick guided video tour here for a taste of that...

We'll have more on the Dolby enhancements later, but let’s first cover the underlying hardware of the 13.9-inch Lenovo Yoga C930 first. At the heart of the Yoga C930 are your choice of Intel’s Core i5-8250U or Core i7-8550U, both based on the Kaby Lake-R architecture and packing four cores, nothing less. There’s additional cache, and 200 MHz base clock and 400 MHz Turbo Boost advantages when opting for the Core i7 variant. RAM starts at 8GB, but up to 16GB is available. Storage options range from 256GB to 1TB M.2 options, complete with a PCI Express interface and NVME support.
