Lenovo ThinkPad W540: Who Needs A Desktop?
To measure the ATIV Book 9 Plus's battery life in a controlled benchmark environment, we turned to Battery Eater Pro. This test is designed to tax a laptop’s resources to give a feel for how long the laptop’s battery will last under heavy use. For the test, we set the laptop's display to 50% brightness and enabled Wi-Fi.
The Lenovo Thinkpad W520 performed admirably, coming in with a total battery time right around a number of other laptops we've tested, give or take ten minutes or so. However, it wasn't nearly as good as Dell's XPS 13, which beat it by more than an hour's worth. Nevertheless, we were pleased that our laptop's crazy specs didn't affect its overall battery life to an absurd degree. We weren't expecting the Thinkpad W520 to keep up with lesser laptops, but it did just fine.
