Lenovo ThinkPad 8 Windows 8.1 Tablet Review

Performance: Web Browsing

Next, we fired up some well-known benchmarks to see how the ThinkPad Lenovo 8 compares to other tablets on the market. Aside from adjusting the power settings (so the tablet's screen doesn't time out during testing), we leave the tablet in the condition in which it arrives. That means that any preloaded programs that run automatically at startup are still running in the background. Generally, the cleaner the system, the better.

Javascript & Web Browsing Performance
General Purpose Workloads

SunSpider 0.9.1 is a Javascript benchmark that has been around for a long time, so we have plenty of tablets to compare the ThinkPad 8 to, including one of its closest competitors, the Dell Venue Pro. Lower scores are better in this test. We also ran Browsermark, which runs the tablet through a series of tasks involving Flash, Silverlight, and HTML5, among others. Higher results are better in Browsermark.

The ThinkPad 8 took top honors in SunSpider and fared reasonably well in Browsermark. In both cases, the ThinkPad 8 outperformed the Dell Venue 8 Pro, which isn't surprising: The ThinkPad 8 has slightly newer hardware. Next, we fired up the graphics benchmarks.
