Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 Ultrabook Review
Lenovo's IdeaPad Yoga 13 ultrabook is designed to give users flexibility in a way other ultrabooks don't: This ultrabook features a unique hinge that lets the Yoga 13's touchscreen display fold 360 degrees, converting the ultrabook from notebook mode to tablet mode. Thanks to its dual-hinge design, the Yoga 13 can also be used in "stand" or "tent" modes as well.
The IdeaPad Yoga 13 runs on Windows 8. When used in notebook mode, the Yoga 13 gives you the full desktop side of Windows 8 with the added benefit of a touchscreen. In tablet, tent, or stand modes, you'll appreciate all of the touch-friendly controls and features found within Windows 8.
But before we dig in much further than that, here's a quick walk-around and demo of the device to give you a feel of these key features...
As you may guess from its name, the Yoga 13 features a 13-inch screen that supports 10-point multitouch. This screen uses direct-bonding technology to make the touchscreen even more responsive and reduce the loss of light in comparison to other screens that use air-bonding technology.
To ensure the Yoga 13 has adequate power to meet most mainstream computing demands, this ultrabook features a 3rd generation Ivy Bridge Intel Core processor. Our test configuration features the 1.7GHz Intel Core i5-3317U along with 4G of DDR3 memory and a 128GB SSD.
The IdeaPad Yoga 13 may not be the cheapest ultrabook on the market at just under $1,000, but it does offer some functionality that you won't get with the others. Let's take a look at some of the other key specifications found on the IdeaPad Yoga 13:
