Our single player "Site3" map custom demo run is a bit more demanding with a lot more action and lighting effects present in the time demo versus what was recorded in our "Frag2" multiplayer demo. In a sense, this benchmark demo is more of a classical Doom 3 test, with lots of action and gore to bog down our graphics processors.
More of the same GeForce 6800 Ultra-driven dominance can been seen here with a notable exception in the scores between the ASUS V9999 Ultra Deluxe and the GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition. Here we see the Extreme Edition reference card pulling ahead more prominently with its 100MHz memory speed advantage, suggesting Doom 3, like its predecessors, is a memory bandwidth-hungry game engine. So the moral of the story is that overclockers might want to see if the ASUS V9999 Ultra can also handle a memory speed goose, in addition to its stock 25MHz GPU overclock, for the best of both worlds.
