| | The Business and
Content Creation Winstone benchmarks use a more traditional
methodology of testing. The test scripts run
concurrent instances of the above applications on the test
system desktop. These Business Desktop and Content
Creation software suites are fully installed and functional
for each of the tests that are executed.
The SiS 655TX
driven P4S800D-E shows its prowess again here, besting both
the VIA PT880 and i875P boards by small margins. It's
interesting to note that the gap is slightly larger in the
Biz Winstone test. The CC Winstone test, is nip and
tuck however, due mostly likely to slightly lower end drive
performance from the 655TX. Video and sound editing
stress tests within CC Winstone 2003, can tax the drive
subsystem more so than in the Biz Winstone 2002 tests.

FutureMark's
3DMark 2003 will give us an early indication general gaming
performance. Let's have a look...
Once again the
Asus P4S800D-E comes out on top by a hair. We're
starting to see a pattern here that is tough to argue with.
We've said this before and we'll say it again, the numbers
simply don't lie. Although the SiS 655TX is only ahead
by 100 or so 3DMarks here, since this test is so heavily
graphics card dependant, that smallish looking lead is
actually just a bit more significant that one might
initially think. We'll have a look at some real world
gaming numbers shortly, to tell the rest of the story here.
