Abit KV8 Pro Motherboard - The K8T800 Pro Has Arrived
Gaming Tests with UT2004 and Comanche4
|
The next test we ran was Comanche 4 from NovaLogic. This is another good test for motherboards because it relies heavily on CPU performance and available memory bandwidth.
It looks like parity is the name of the game here. All systems performed in-line with each other, with the KV8 Pro falling right in the middle. The fastest board hit 67.34 frames per second while the slowest turned out 66.40 FPS, a variance of less than 1FPS.

The next test we ran was a custom demo with Unreal Tournament 2004. To take the video card out of the equation, we set the resolution for 640x480x16, allowing us to focus more on CPU performance and memory efficiency.
Surprisingly, the KV8 Pro took last place with this test, trailing the K8T800 by a little over 2.5FPS. The SiS755 based board from Foxconn posted the strongest results at over 100FPS.
