Happy Friday everyone, the weekend is about to get started.  This morning we have a good lineup of reading for you from great looking Albatron mobo to a thoughtful editorial on Blue-Ray technology.  You better get started, there's some good reading here. Albatron PX925X Pro @ Viper Lair: "Throughout all the testing the Albatron PX925X Pro didn't falter once, and let's face it, if your motherboard isn't stable, then nothing you do will make the whole system stable. Standard performance was up there with all the other 925 based boards we have seen, and even put in a few impressive memory and content creation scores higher than expected (nothing you would see except in a benchmark... Well the whole holiday season is finally coming to an end, and I'm looking forward to getting things back to normal. Who knows, maybe I'll get a few more tech calls from all the folks who got expensive computers and don't know how to use them :) Which brings me to a rather odd realization. Spyware and computer viruses, as annoying as they are, help me make money. I've always looked down on people who make money off of another persons misery... but that appears to be the situation I'm in... oh well ;) Albatron PX915G4 Pro @ Overclockers Online "Albatron decided to stick with the current Socket 478 processors on this model. This allows existing P4 users to migrate over to the PCI-E world without... Read more...
I'm feeling much better now, and it's great to be back! I'll tell you, you don't realize how great breathing is until you can't do it anymore. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday. I didn't get to enjoy it myself, but my friends had plenty of leftovers at their house so I still had my fill of turkey :) Anyway, there isn't much news tonight, but I'll give you what I got... Thermalright SI-97 Heatsink Review @ Techniz "Today, we are review another solid heatsink, the Thermalright SI-97. This heatsink is cost around $35 US. To install the SI-97 on to the motherboard, it is no needed to take out the motherboard, unlike the installation of the SP-97. This is a newer generation of... Read more...

Good evening fans, welcome back :)  I hope all my Canadian friends had a good thanksgiving weekend.  Myself, I spent some quality time with my parents back in my ol'hometown.  There is nothing like quality "mom food."  I don't know what it is, but it always tastes better!?  Speaking of tasting good, I have some extra sweet juice lined up so go grab a glass.... Good evening everyone :)  According to the clock in my system tray, it is time for the HotHardware nightcap.  So, toss on some music, grab a warm drink and settle in for a good read.  Here is our final shot of juice for the day... Good evening friends, welcome back to HH :)  Thanks for bearing with me this morning, I made it to my meeting on time, but, not with much room to spare.  Nonetheless, taking a gander into my inbox-o-wonders, it looks like my fellow editors from around the net had quite the busy day themselves.  So, without further ado, here is your evening dose of juice...  Antec NeoPower 480 Review @ ClubOC "The box top of the Antec NeoPower 480, aside from the obvious Matrix overtones, clearly shows the power supply's greatest innovative feature. No, not the use of a single 120mm fan to provide cooling. How about the five connectors that allow you to pick and choose as many, or as few,... Read more...
Hey gang, time to ring in the new weekend! I can't believe we are at the end of Summer already. The kiddies are going back to school and soon things should start cooling down some. That also means the hardware front should be kicking into high gear in anticipation of the holiday season. With so much change in the hardware world in recent months, things should be very interesting. There will be a lot of work for us to do, but that's what we're here for! Press Release 25 NEW WaterChill and VapoChill products launched!!! asetek Inc. - the leading manufacturer of vapor phase CPU cooling systems and water cooling solutions for PCs – has launched a whole bunch of new products. Exactly 25 NEW... Read more...
Good morning everyone :)  Sorry to cut this short but, I am running extremely lean on time today.  So, without further ado, here is your morning shot of juice... Albatron PX875P Pro @ Viper Lair "With the exception of the lack of RAID, 10/100 networking, and a passive North Bridge cooler, it's tough to ignore the performance and stability of the PX875P Pro. If you're in the market for a Pentium 4 motherboard, and don't need all the frills some high-end boards may provide, this board is certainly worthy of being on your short-list given its cost." Sony VAIO VGN-X505VP Notebook Review @ Designtechnica "Using the X505 in a public place such as a coffeehouse or on public... Read more...
Good morning friends, how is everyone doing?  Things around the Canadian portion of the HH labs have been fairly mundane so far today.  Between applying a few Ghost Images and taking a few pictures for a review, I think the coffee machine has been doing the brunt of the work ;)  Nonetheless, let's take a step out of the HH world and see what else is happening around the net.... Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL Pro Series Memory @ ExtremeMHz "The XL series is a major step in the right direction in order to achieve a higher level of performance from DDR memory.  The lower latencies do really play a major role in overall system performance, and they show in our test results.  Don't... Good morning friends :)  Things around the HH labs have been humming with activity over the past few days.  With our newest member of the HH Crew, Rudy, firing up his first review and our other members preparing to unleash their reviews, this week is going to be a busy one.  But you know us, the busier we are, the happier ;) Albatron FX5700P Turbo Video Card @ LAN Addict "So, after all of the testing and overclocking and game playing I've done with Albatron's FX5700P Turbo, what do I think of it? Well, I think it's a damn fine card! It'll overclock past 5700 Ultra core speeds with relative ease and it comes with some pretty decent memory. The RAM sinks are a nice touch, as... Read more...
Good evening friends, how are you?  Nothing terrible exciting happened in my world today.  I did however pick up a new CD which I ordered a while back.  I doubt most of you have heard of the record label before, but, it is a new release from NinjaTunes.  If you can imagine mixing Downtempo Jazz with Break Beats, you will get an idea of the music ;)  Nonetheless, let's get down to the real reason you came here... Albatron GeForce FX5700U3 GDDR3 Videocard Review @ PC Stats "The GeForceFX 5700 Ultra is already a pretty decent mainstream videocard, but that hasn't stopped nVIDIA from trying to sweeten the deal by including GDDR3 to the mix. GDDR3 (Graphics Double Data... Read more...
Morning gang. Yesterday was one of the most stressful days in a long time at the day job. We lost our T1 at the office all day and Verizon really didn't act like they cared. Guess we'll be looking for a new provider soon! Anyhow, while we get back to normal, I had a few moments to pop in and give you a little news. Hope this will hold you over for now. Tweaknews has a look at a Radeon 9600 with Dual DVI and 256MB of memory from HIS: "With the numerous configurations available, one option seems to be quite a bit more scare and that is native support for dual DVI connections for the newer CRT and LCD monitors. Most dual DVI cards are more limited two dimensional drafting / professional workstations... Read more...
Albatron's PX875 Pro Motherboard Power, Performance, and Good Looks By: Jeff Bouton February 5, 2004 Since the advent of Intel's i865 and i875 chipsets, the two have performed similarly, with a slight advantage going to the 875 and its PAT (Performance Acceleration Technology).  Soon after the release of the 865 however, motherboard manufacturers were able to implement the same technology with a simple BIOS update, showing that the i865 is merely a binned down i875 with more conservative timings.  Not long after this was discovered, Intel made it clear that it was not PAT "officially" and it could not be called PAT in any way. After the initial dust settled, we all... Read more...
Albatron PX865PE Lite Pro vs. Asus P4P800S-E Budget boards take a bite out of the market by Robert Maloney November 20th, 2003           With the proliferation of 800MHz FSB processors and the wide acceptance of DDR400 memory, it's quite easy to see how Springdale and Canterwood boards have captured a large share of the current market.  Performance-wise, both of these chipsets provide a large jump over the very successful i845, but with an equally large bump in the price.  Cost-conscious users who are currently content with their i845 setup might find the cost of upgrading somewhat prohibitive.  As we all know, the upgrade cycle can sometimes... The Albatron Gigi GeForce FX 5200 Ultra Mainstream With Muscle? By - Tom Laverriere October 28, 2003 When a new OEM emerges in PC Hardware, their products are initially gawked at from afar, as most end users are reluctant to take the plunge into uncharted waters.  As soon as a few end users claim good experiences with new hardware, word spreads and the bandwagon jumping begins.  It's safe to say that Albatron has become one of these companies as of late.  Since Albatron came onto the scene only a short time ago, they have become target of exploration for some in the hardware enthusiast community.  Their products boast innovative features and designs, seemingly without compromising... Albatron's GeForce4 Ti4800SE Powerful Graphics on a Budget By - Jeff Bouton March 26, 2003 Albatron is one of those companies that seemed to come out of nowhere and rapidly make a name for themselves.  Just around the time NVIDIA was rolling out their GeForce 4 product line, Albatron slipped into the spotlight, and became a player in the video card market.  Then, in an attempt to gain a maximum amount of exposure in a relatively short amount time, they released a slew of review samples to hardware community.  Since then, Albatron has grown into a very successful manufacturer of quality motherboards and video cards.  Today, like many other companies reliant on NVIDIA's success,... Home Grown Networking and Modems from ActionTec Electronics https://www.actiontec.com   Not long ago, "Home Networking" was a segment of the PC and Peripheral Market that did not even exist. However along with the huge success of the Personal Computer and the Internet within the mainstream and "Family/SOHO" (Small Office/Home Office) space, came the Multi-PC Household. Soon, for today's average family, one PC was not enough. It was as if the "Great Telephone Line Battle" was raged again but this time on a different precious commodity, "Computer Time". Now instead of hogging the phone lines for voice calls, Teens are sucking up MHz. and bandwidth in the Chat Rooms and Web Pages of the Internet.... Read more...
