Seagate this week reported financial results for the quarter ended December 30, 2011, in which the company said it shipped 47 million disk drives and collected $3.2 billion in revenue. Seagate is streamlining its Barracuda line of hard drives. To this end, the new Barracuda line will offer a SATA 6GB/second interface, 7200RPM spin speed, and up to 64MB cache.
